Does BVD still have his post game thoughts? Or has it gotten so routine that he has recorded one synopsis and just runs it on a loop weekly?

Not to hijack this thread into a Bama v. LSU discussion but this is the worst Bama D and the worst Bama run game in a decade. That’s offset by a stellar passing game.

Could the Bama v. LSU game end up looking like a Big 12 matchup? Tied at 52 with 43 seconds left on the clock, last team to score wins?

Nah. I'm happy. I can actually watch this team with out averting my eyes. Wait...what did I see...It's a pass not sideways but DOWNFIELD. But...we have a have a tough schedule coming up.

This can't be true. Mullen's offense only runs bubble screens and other sideways passes. ...when they're not running the ball of course.

I know 'cause I read it here.

Do we even have a fullback on this roster? I don't think so, and none of the backs seem to want to commit to blocking. Perine tries, even had a decent block or two this game, but usually he's just a minor obstacle.

Keon Zipperer has been brought in as FB on a few plays.

May come as a shock to you bro, but defenses will adjust to Trask, especially if we remain one dimensional.
Yeah, like the adjustments that UT made? Here's the thing. QB's that actually know how to read defenses are usually successful regardless of "adjustments" because no scheme is perfect and in order to adjust you have to give something up. I think our defense, on the other hand, is concerning.

Hmmmmm. One dimensional you say. Well, two pass happy as hell NFL teams have pretty good damn success without running games. KC Chiefs for one who run a passing to run plays ratio of 62.5% to 37.5%. I call that a pass happy offense. Then there is the NO Saints who run a passing to run plays ratio of 66.39% to 33.61%. Those are one dimensional teams that both won 12 and 13 games respectively last year. If you have the right coach and the right QB that one dimensional stuff doesn't mean a damn thing.

to defend the run game, you have to cover 6 gaps.

to defend against the pass, you have to cover 40 yards by about 40 yards.

Must be why they keep winning the Super Bowl then. You gotta balance it out eventually.

all we have to do to fix the run game is stop letting a defensive end come free and add a fullback.

there's a reason Notre Dame doesn't run that **** anymore.

You realize the blocking scheme for the inside and outside zone has the backside DE unblocked so the QB reads him to determine whether to give it or pull it??

Literally everyone in the world runs it this way.

Are you serious? Yes, of course I do.

But 99% of this board didn't know. That's why I was very specific trying to teach it to some and let them watch themselves (and see how the defense crashed on the back when Trash was in and stayed home on EJ.)

There are the people who think Perine cant run and whoever runs with EJ is great.

Well see, as we post on this board the game is changing in ways it hasn't been in the past. KC is turning the NFL on its head. You can see it as QB's are becoming more centric to the team more than ever over the last couple of years. If you don't have a QB that reads defenses and be damned what you have pass vs. run wise you aren't going anywhere. I'm not 100% sure about Trask on that front but boy he sure looks like he's reading something when he drops back and you can actually watch him go down his progressions. I sat in the stands Saturday and took the opportunity to watch the whole field. There were two or three occasions when you saw him throw snap passes to players he didn't actually see but threw because he expected them to be there. THAT reminded me of Danny Wuerffel. Is he there? I don't know. But he sure looks like he's knocking on the door.....
