That being said, no, the point doesn't stand. Not even a little. Nobody has argued that we have comparable talent or that Mullen inherited comparable talent. We all know it's the exact opposite by a country mile. The point is that if you want to make an argument by giving examples, use some that actually prove your point. The ones provided did the opposite. Finally, if you fail initially, don't double down on stupid by saying, well I was 100% wrong, but the point stands.

It was debated extensively on page 3 of this thread. Whether or not that was your position, all of these ancillary arguments have stemmed from that talk. Yes, NOLA was wrong with his wording, as he didn’t inherit Fields or Fromm. But I was pointing out that he also didn’t “land” Eason. And as much heat as Mullen took for Jones and some of the others that left so early, the fact is Smart couldn’t keep 2/3 of that QB room in the fold, and that rarely gets mentioned as a slight on him.

It’s really all splitting hairs and meaningless. As several have said, the rosters weren’t close, but they aren’t getting closer without better recruiting. That’s not an apology tour, it’s simply reality that we should all be able to agree on.

Don't worry about it. Its just how chatter gets which makes it entertaining sometimes. Everyone here gets crap wrong with our bad memories. Mullen's recruiting (and what Foley allowed to happen) is putting many of us on edge I think.
