Lol, ok, first things first... I assume your wife was ok & not hurt or something serious?

Second, if the answer to the first question was yes, are you sure this wasn’t a set-up?
No I think she really fainted. It was the excitement of the trip and the condition she was in pregnant that caused it. My brother in law at the time owned the Alexis Park Motel and was going to fly my mother in law out for Thanksgiving for a week. She said she couldn't go because she was helping to take care of Jeanie at the time. My brother in law Lewis then offered to fly all 3 of us out and put us up in a Suite. It was last minute plans and we had spent all day making arangements.

I usually have some decent stories, but when it comes to MIL I got nuthin for the most part. She and I are pretty well aligned on most things, so there is no real issues. Even anecdotal happenings have been slim as her life was mostly focused on my FIL and keeping him alive. Most I can say about her is that she does have her quirks - one of those OCD control persons having raised her retarded brother (yes, literal, like lived his life in a nursing home mostly) from her early teens pretty much on her own until he passed away, and taking care of my FIL for 30y past his first round of heart attacks. As a lifelong caregiver, she's always had to be in control and ensure things follow set patterns, so even today with nobody else to care for she's wired to where dinner has to be not too early, but not too late (think 6:00-6:30), grocery shopping is done on Fridays after work, she has to clean the house on Saturday mornings before the cleaning lady comes (yes, one of those types). Great heart, always means well, and is cognizant of her own crazy enough to let my wife and I raise her grandkids without much back seat comments. Honestly, a really good hearted woman and I can't complain.

Now, if I flip this a bit, my wife could share some decent stories about my mom, her MIL, that make you wonder wtf. Again, good heart, twisted and deep thread of crazy, but nothing of real note other than a short temper that explodes quickly when it goes...but it doesn't go often.

I would've risked my marriage, continued the pretense that you were her daughter, and lathered her up in a very sexual way, up to and including the buttocks and inner thigh.

Oh boy where do I begin......
battleaxe
A woman, who is nasty, overbearing, mean, pompous, arrogant, a selfish busybody, aggressive, disagreeable, or any combination of these. A battleaxe is usually an older woman, and often somewhat unattractive. The standard dictionary definition does not address looks, but one seldom hears a beautiful woman being called a battleaxe, no matter how disagreeable she is.

I've been lied to, lied about, poisoned(attempted) had expensive personal items of mine thrown away including a 2006 GatorNation National Champs 4x6 flag, not to mention dozens and dozens of heated shouting matches, and head games 24/7 for the last 13-14 years of living with my MIL....

This has all the beginnings of a Bernie Sanders written Penthouse letter.

I, for one, would like to hear more about the attempted poisoning.

Change the topic to Sisters-in-Law, and I bet this thread heats up instantly!

I have 8, when I first started dating my wife, I looked up 4 of their mugshots at the local PD before they were made to take them now. Gone to court against one, bailed one out of jail, etc....

My SIL was in prison in Mississippi and was let out for good behavior. A few days later, she was caught at the prison fence throwing cigarettes into the yard to her “friends”. You know the guards we like:

My wife caught off all contact with her before we even met. She’s not even allowed to know what state we live in

My MIL is a hippie spiritualist, with crystals, who only eats certified local organic, and is weirdly allergic to citrus and tomato.

Every time we go over to her house she asks if we’re hungry and I always without hesitation say “no we just had McDonalds”. The look of disgust gets me every time

Nice. How is it being the SIL to a presidential candidate?

The look of disgust has nothing to do with you having McDonald's.

The correct thread title is "Mothers-in-Law".

Brad, you're held to a higher standard around here. We expect better of you.
