It's time for Trask to play an entire game without getting yanked

If you aren't going to play Trask for an entire game and let him do his thing, then SIT HIM the entire game and play Emory. Playing both has to stop.

Mullen would love to sit Trask, but he knows it wouldn't be popular right now, probably because Trask is our best pure passer since Grossman. He is flat-out desperate to run that crap option, so he can win "his way".

I will say that Mullen's stubbornness may be his downfall. He needs to play to his players' strengths. Right now our strengths on offense are a pocket passing QB who is smart and delivers the ball accurately, receivers who run good routes and catch well in coverage and an o-line who can at least pass block half way decently. We should be a pass first offense now. But we won't be and it'll continue to bite us in the ass.

Look at what LSU did. They scrapped their $h!tty offense and went out and got a guy who runs plays designed to their players' strengths. The difference has been night and day. Just like the difference was night and day in our first half when we were chucking it downfield from the pocket.

I love how you still call him trash....it’s quite amusing at this point.

Not amusing at all. The kids a solid Gator and deserves better. If there was ever a banable offense, repeatedly calling him trash would be it. Part of the reason I have him on ignore.

Trask looking great in our vertical offense. 310 yards passing vs LSU, a top 5 team. Not bad for a supposed 2*QB.

I second this....it’s gone beyond annoying. Amazing to see an adult (questionable) verbally degrading a kid that is the leader of our team

Itraz made a great point that our elite group of WR's will be gone soon and aren't being replaced. This is the one year that you go all out and use them. Instead, they are wasted.

Mullen needs to throw the old playbook out the window and go for broke this season. Throw 60 times a game if necessary. However, there is a better chance of me waking up tomorrow and having 3 johnsons.

Next year, Cope and......

This might be the best receiver corps we've had since 96.

Mullen is trying to do the same thing he did with Leak and Tebow in Tebow's freshman year. Emory is no Tebow.

Agreed 100% plus Trask is not afraid of contact like Leak was so we can still run some with Trask
Mullen outsmarted himself last night

Mullen sees some sort of value in the change of pace, although it only helped on a couple of runs last night. EJ otherwise looked overwhelmed in the road environment.

Trask is more than competent. He's a gamer. If he tries to get the pitch out a split second sooner on that late goalline series, we're probably discussing an onside kick this morning. The play was there.

Or maybe just putting Trask under center, getting in the I-formation, and handing off to someone. We might be amazed what happens.
Oh my God......This is what would happen.

This wasn't meant to bash Emory, as I like him. However, this is Trask's team. What he has done under the circumstances is remarkable. He plays behind a terrible line with no running game to help him, and he's completely unflappable.

In an offense built around his skills, he could have a monster season. It's a crime that he's forced to run the option when he doesn't have to and it yanked out of a rhythm so that Mullen can run "his" offense. Is it more important to run your offense or win the damn game?

He's simply a far better QB than anyone thought possible. Hell, I think he's a lock to get drafted now, and we would have laughed our asses off at that possibility a year ago. In fact, I think he could get drafted higher than Franks.
Bro, FF isn't getting drafted unless he goes to a 1-AA school next year to light it up against weak competition. Even then, whoever drafts him will be making a mistake (see Ryan Mallett or JaMarcus Russell). If he were smart (and he isn't), he'd find a small school and take his chances playing TE or WR. That, or he could give baseball a try.

It doesnt have to be true I form, though I think the less movement for them the better.

It can be simple Inside and Outside Zone, just anything which involves blocking all of the DL would be a nice start.

I'm not completely against EJ in certain situations, but that whole series late that resulted in nothing but a punt, I was like WTF....

Have you seen how bad our center is? If our QB is under center he won't be able to take the snap before he gets our center and the NT crushing him...it's literally that bad.

Hell, he isnt even going to remove DeLance, it appears.

I agree he is terrible. But, for who? Are you advocating the true freshman Tarquin? His backup this year has been Forsythe with Gouraige playing LT. Gouraige is playing LG now because Bleich was such a disaster. I’m not sure what they can do this year. Next season there will be more options a the true freshman will be ready to play physically.

Do I like him? No.

Will pros draft a guy who is 6'6", runs surprisingly well and will have the biggest arm at the combine? Absolutely they will. They are all about the numbers.
We need a Quaalude emoji for this kind of post.

He's slow afoot, a straight-up bad runner with zero pocket awareness, absurdly hesitant with his checkdowns and he has a baseball release.

His arm strength is a complete afterthought.

I'll be shocked if he even makes an NFL practice squad.
