and here is the story...........When I was in 4th grade at Archer Elementary a new principal came to our school. We called him Mr Tallman. I had him as my 6th grade teacher and principal my last year there. He was one of my mentors early on that gave me ideas about being a teacher. He was a great math teacher and ran the school while also teaching. He warmed me up a few times with his large paddle. But those are other long stories. Well, Mr Tallman had a few children and a few years ago one of them passed away and
I discovered he had a son in Palatka. I wanted to contact him and tell him what his dad meant to me. Time passed and I never got around to it. THIS PAST Friday another of his sons passed away and the funeral is in Archer soon. I though I need to go and meet his son Richard and talk to him. Now the AMAZING PART. The same day I read the obituary Mike(my brother) called me and said his son Sean found a very old wallet on the back dirt road behind their house. Mr Tallman lived about 300 yard away by the Presyb. church. The city is working on the dirt roads by his house and turned up a lot of dirt. Sean brought it in and the wallet BELONGED to Mr Tallman. It had is old WW2 dog tags in it and his VA card so we knew it was his. OVER 30 yrs ago some one must have stolen it, took the money and threw it in the bushes on that road. So the same day I was planning to attend this funeral we find the man's father's old wallet and dog tags. I will return them to his surviving son on Friday.

It was so old that only his plastic VA card was legible. There were some pics badly weathered. One that I hope his son can identify. Its really fragile.

Just seeing if I can get one past him and provide positive reinforcement.

Now you've ruined a perfect plan.
:lmao: the plan was about as good as Mexicans paying for a wall..........some of yall think getting older means getting dumber. What it means is if you have been paying attention all those years the less obvious becomes more obvious at times...........I have learned that patience, experience, perspective and listening skills can trump IQ quite often.............

Trump threatened Mexico with tariffs and the mexicalis put 17000 soldiers on the border to stop the illegal traffic til Trump gets the wall built -pretty smart huh?

Well, I went to the funeral. Small group. A childhood friend made a good speech. Then two Navy guys did the flag and one played taps.
Excellent. I went up and spoke to the man who was the son of my principal. Told him some stories about his dad. And gave him the
wallet and dog tags. He was very appreciative. TV20 wanted to come but I never got a reply from this guy so told them not to come.
