That was about as aggressive as Ive ever seen Mullinz.

He likes those long slow drives. He seems to WANT to be in third and 4-5. He doesnt seem to realize it is just more chances for someone to screw up and result in a punt/turnover on downs etc.
Urban had a saying - "Nobody says the game has to be close"

That said, Mullen at least has a killer instinct, something Butters and Chump never had....well, other than killing their own offensive drives.

Even Tom Brady throws picks. This may come as a surprise to you, but the passing scheme gets less and less surprising to the defense every play. After EJs last series, we were held scoreless and Trask threw two picks. One was called back due to penalty.

Hold on ... looking for that time Belichick sub'd Brady out when the game was on the line because even Brady is due to make a mistake. And before you say Trask ain't Brady remember it is your comparison that I used.

To be honest ... I have no real issue with putting EJ in the games at time and think EJ did a good job of actually picking up some yards running it when nobody else in blue could even though everyone knew he was going to run. I just had an issue with the timing of when he went in as well as all EJ did was option running when he went in. At least have him throw it more instead of the predictable crap he had EJ do. I would be a bit pissed if I was EJ and Trask. Its like that last 4th and goal play ... who else besides myself and my son blurted out before we snapped it, "watch this, it will be a QB option play to the strong side"?

I love CDM but understand you have to take the bad with the good. There is a lot more good about CDM so far than the bad ... but I think he had some bad that really affected our chances to win. I still think it doesn't matter if we score on that drive that Trask threw the interception (btw ... he didn't even know he was going in on that play and was confused as he ran onto the field because of the herky-jerky EJ-Trask rotation crap) because there is no way our D was going to stop LSU from scoring once they got the ball back. But at least it kept us in the ballgame and extended our chances further.

As you know there isn’t a very close analogy between pro and college offenses for a number of reasons, and yet New England puts an emphasis on running the football and a balanced attack even though they have one of the greatest passers of all time under center. There must be solid reasons for it.

Getting back to the LSU game though, I think Mullen was looking to re-establish field position with EJ who had been ripping off 8 and 9 yard runs to that point. After a first down or two Trask would have been right back in there with much better field position, and consequently a lot more options in terms of play calling.

Due for a mistake? Come on. The guy gets better every damn game. Don't you think Emory Jones would be just as or more likely to make a mistake?
What I meant by this is that you can't just abandon the run in favor of passing every down. In fact, that's what the defense hopes you will do. We always try to force teams to be one-dimensional. If you are only dropping back to pass, your chances of throwing an INT or taking a Sack are greatly increased. You have to mix it up to keep them guessing. Dan wanted to run the ball and lessen the chances of a mistake in the passing game. I just worded that poorly. I'm all aboard the Trask Train. And think Mullen is the right man for job at UF. So not that interested in second guessing his every decision, especially when we almost won that game. I'll agree he panicked and mad some poor choices, especially in the redzone late. Maybe he'll get better. But you NEVER abandon the run completely. That's like going full Muschamp.

if minister was paid by the post he'd be a millionaire...

Who says I’m not one already?

Ignore is always an option, sh!thatchling. Keep it up though, you’re getting slightly less boring and slightly more irritating with each post. With a little luck you just might earn your sh!tbird wings by Christmas.

"Trust the coaches" is not allowed here. Please try again.
He wanted to run the dang ball, period. Thought EJ gave him the best chance to run the dang ball. We had gotten creamed on the previous series. These coaches no-doubt suck and need to be replaced immediately by Chip Kellly who is now on the rise again after beating Stanford. Gosh, idiots.

Yes, at least in part because Mullen decided to give up on the drive by running right up the gut on 1st and 20, after Trask had a 20+ yard play called back on the previous play.

Fellas, it’s okay to admit Mullen made some critical mistakes. You will not be struck dead by the Gator Gods.

I'm trying to understand the part of it that you think doesn't deserve a like. Here's the short attention-span version:

1) A team can't become one-dimensional and abandon the run completely
2) I trust Mullen and don't try to second-guess all plays that don't work
3) In the LSU game, he may have panicked near the end and made some questionable play calls

What part of this is NOT something to agree with?

I wouldn't take it personal. The week following a loss is always a meltdown on here. LOL
Once we kick some ass again, everyone will mostly get along again.
