It's time for Trask to play an entire game without getting yanked

Using EJ situationally, much like Tebow in 2006, makes sense because that's when EJ and the running game are most effective. Pulling Trask while he's in rhthym just to give EJ his own drive doesn't make sense and has already backfired multiple times this year.

The strengths of the offensive players are not to run the spread option. Yes, Mullen has thrown the ball more, but there are still times where he tries to fit a square peg in a round hole, which was detrimental against LSU. I understand the need to run the ball to help the passing game, but read option with Trask at the helm doesn't work. Mullen needs to adjust his playbook so that the running game while Trask is in will use more iso and power plays and fewer zone and option plays. Also, an occasional HB draw while the passing game is going wouldn't hurt either.

Now you've done it. These logical points are going to be soundly rejected by most here.

If it's rainy today plan on seeing a lot more of Emory.

When was Trask pulled in rhythm for EJ?

Trask played a pretty bad 1st half. Hopefully he'll get his head on straight at halftime. The defense has been lucky that their QB has made some errant throws because our safeties leave receivers running open everywhere.

This team nutted up after falling behind in those crap conditions on the road. I was worried about their mental toughness. They proved yet again they've got that in spades.

Maybe the site owner should be like the team and nut up

I think we beat UGA in two weeks as well. Scored 38 points in tough conditions with an off day from Trask and Mullen’s staff apparently taking your bad advice. Should’ve worked Pierce in more but oh well - maybe against UGA. You know that Georgia boy is going to want to run it down the dawgs throats.

Trask came back and had an excellent 2nd half. Horrible officiating that hurt both teams at different points in the game. But great win for the gutty Gators in bad weather on the road against a confident South Carolina team.

Can Trask ever come to resemble a power runner? He was effective picking up yards in a few key moments today, and he didn’t hesitate to stick his headgear in there.

@NickdelaTorreGC: Kyle Trask is the first Gator since Tim Tebow to throw 4 TDs in a road game (Tebow threw 4 @ Kentucky on 10/20/07).
Other QBs since 1996 to do so.
Danny Wuerffel (3x)
Rex Grossman (2x)
Doug Johnson (2x)
Chris Leak (1x)

I really thought Dan would pull Trask. Glad he didn't.
I loved seeing Mullen get in his face on the sideline after a few of the failed first-half series. Coaching up, coaching up. That's how you make a young quarterback better.

Just as much, I loved watching Trask passively soak it in, much like Spurrier and Wuerffel working together early on. He's a dry sponge, such a compliant kid.

There's a lot of potential with these two over the next few seasons, esp if we get help on the OL.
