Trying to spin a mehhh resume is fitting a narrative. No one is saying he hasnt done some good things, but no one with any sense can say he hasnt had some troubling weaknesses (recruiting) and 8nconsistencies (losing to Burp, Matt Luke, and U South Ala, fielding 100th ranked offenses).
I have never claimed CDM is Urbs or SOS 2.0. I just think he is a better coach than Odom.

Recruiting applies at UF. MSU is part of his resume but not the most important part. His current time here is. What other weaknesses from his most relevant experience support your narrrative?

Great points all around. Nick Saban is a pretty bad coach. Went 34-24 at MSU, best finish in big 10 (happened once) was t-2nd but every other year was 5th or worse. Little better at LSU (48-16) and backed into a lucky NC but still averaged more than 3 losses a season there. Also, west was trash while he was at LSU so he got lucky. Who would want to hire a guy like that?

I don’t think you made the case. Just because he won a game with a large talent disparity? Hell, FSU was supposedly more talented than we were and yet we won. And if we hadn’t, none of us would have thought, oh well, they had more talent. They were terrible and CDM beat them as he should have. Perhaps I don’t put as much stock in talent ratings as you do. We’ve discussed in other threads how it’s weighted. The best teams are at or near the top, but there’s a lot of underachieving teams up there too.
I also never said it doesn’t count what Mullen did in 2016, I just believe he’s a better coach now.
As for my comment about “your serve” I was joking based on @Swamp Donkey ’s post. Next time I’ll use the sarcastic font.

:lmao2: if I had a nickel for every time a team that hired shttty coach mentioned that they thought they just hired Nick Saban. it doesn't matter whether you're looking at the voles board, cawks, criminulls,
our boards when we had chump or shark, or anyone else.

They always forget to mention that Nick Saban wasn't particularly good, lost at home to Zook with a freshman quarterback and his best year, until he went to the NFL and came back demanding all the extras at trailerbammer.

Yes, every loser or mediocre coach on the planet is actually Nick saban who just needs one more year. Trust the coach!!!! And every 7-5 coach who gets fired was Nick saban.

PLAY FOOTBALL

Like to see us develop a punt returner with confidence that begats bravery. Instead of the "turnover chain" we need an "out to lunch" necklace for the punt returner.

@ltraz , I just saw an interesting stat: Odom is 0-2 on the road, but 5-0 at home. Crap, maybe I’ll be telling you in few weeks you were right after all. (Can’t decide which would be worse: UF losing or admitting you were right!)

If Muschamp is looking for some new shirts for his team, I have one for him.

“I allowed 354 total yards to a kid who hasn’t played in the rain since he was 9.”

Sizes: S, M, L, XL

No, my favorite moron, the point is that what you do at your current job is more important than your past jobs. Those get you hired. Currently, he’s not doing what he did at MSU - inexplicable losses - and he’s doing what you said he wouldn’t - win SEC games, beat ranked teams, etc. Your MSU stats get invalidated more each week yet you hang onto 33-39 and whatever his crappy record was against ranked teams. Remember when I found your 0-8 post? Or @Slevin captured all your idiot comments before you edited them?

Now its “he’ll revert to MSU form at some point” or “it doesn’t matter what he’s doing now, its not sustainable or pretty or his decisions aren’t exactly to my liking so it sucks” or “he’s our RICHT! and will never be successful like SOS or Meyer”. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Most likely a 9-3 or 10-2 season. Not bad considering what he inherited.

You’re so dumb sometimes. I love how easy you assume MSU recruiting. Nothing in their history suggests its easy to win or recruit there unless your paying like Sherrill. And I’d. Argue its still more important to recruit here - we want championships and its actually possible. MSU’s delusional fans might want a championship but its not realistic - never has been.

Kentucky won 10 games and was 6-2 in the SEC. Not your typical Kentucky team. Mizzou has had our number since the joined for some reason. It sucks, admittedly. Still, 8 win team that was 4-4 in the SEC. Not exactly USA or GSU or Vandy.

I'm happy the Gators won. I'm glad Dan Mullen is our coach. I like being able to look forward to fall Saturdays again. With Mullen I expect that will be the case for years. If we don't win them all I'll live with it. I'm sure this opinion is in the minority of posters here but I can live with that. I'll sleep well tonight after today's victory.

For those of you that don't enjoy Gator victories and would rather argue incessantly can you enjoy the fact that both FSU and Miami lost?

You make a great point. We go into these and most games, largely expecting the win them. Honestly haven’t had that in almost a decade.

I can only argue incessantly when UF wins. I never feel like posting when UF loses. And FTR I am enjoying the hell out of the win - perhaps a bit too much. And the scUM and null losses. For a while I was even enjoying that awful Ugly UK game
