It's time for Trask to play an entire game without getting yanked

I loved seeing Mullen get in his face on the sideline after a few of the failed first-half series. Coaching up, coaching up. That's how you make a young quarterback better.

Just as much, I loved watching Trask passively soak it in, much like Spurrier and Wuerffel working together early on. He's a dry sponge, such a compliant kid.

There's a lot of potential with these two over the next few seasons, esp if we get help on the OL.
the offensive line getting a lot better in the next year or two would help a lot especially in the running game with used to be dominant. I also wish the Gators played defense like they Used to. But oh well good start to the season and a chance for a 12 win season.

Trask is proving a lot of people wrong. He will get better as the offense gets better too. I also don't mind EJ playing once in awhile in a specific running role to throw the defense off.

Am I the only one who's impressed with how well trask seems to be taking his coaching? The dude was a bonafide statue in the pocket two weeks ago. Now he's scrambling around making plays on the run. He's feeling pressure and stepping up. Mullen doesn't have baby him. He can get after his ass and trask responded today.

His awareness is much better. You cant replicate anything like game speed or develop awareness while wearing a no contact jersey. His footwork was kind of bad at time but he was moving as you noted.

I hope I never see another "speed option" w Trash though.

However I was most impressed w him taking a little off and lobbing passes over on defender and in front of another. That was some real touch at times.

At this point he is a Cinderella level of surprise.

Nice to see a QB be able to work the middle of the filed again, it's been awhile.

And he didn't fumble the ball when they sacked him.

Next thing you know you’ll no longer be equating him to refuse.

If Trask can run with abandon behind his pads on the infrequent occasions when his number is called, doing a piano dragging Tebow impression like he did today, that is still safer and more effective than overstaying his welcome in the pocket as a sitting duck. Carolina was shocked and caught flat footed when he came at them with a little moxie.

He doesn’t seem to get rattled, even after he makes a mistake, which is something we’ve been missing for a long time here.

This isn't why you platy him. I've said this before, but you have to play EJ due to the current transfer rules. Highly rated recruits are transferring elsewhere so they can play. Justin Fields, Joe Burrow and on and on. EJ can certainly start for a number of quality teams next season. Mullen needs to play him just to keep EJ satisfied enough to stay. FF is gone. If EJ leaves too, that leaves AR as the lone backup next season.

This is the Truth! I don’t know how you keep a full QB room happy these days, but we don’t have to worry about that. We gotta keep EJ happy, tho.
