This. And as Seabee said, we've seen a glimpse of what the offense can look like with effective passing. And within 3 months, we have three effective passers on the roster. Unless this kid decides he's ok doing something else(which wouldn't make much sense if he's bailing), I wouldn't touch him and risk upsetting what we have.

I don;t think they reach out to him personally for the very reason of chemistry etc. I think Cousin Eddie likes EJ enough and he seems to also fit Cousin Eddie's style. He may not be a bruiser but he is pretty strong for his size. I was simply pointing out that Gatewood is a carbon copy of the guy Cousin Eddie had at Cowbell (forgot his name), only a bit more a QB and much more highly regarded coming out of HS.

Someone on talk radio was just saying a few days ago how maddening it is that every other year Malzahn insists on trying to use a passing QB to run his system rather than just accepting what he is and going with the better runner of the two. Just as Stidham didn't truly fit, I'm not sure Nix does either.

It's like us ever even looked at Beck in recruiting.
