*I was pleased with our sense of urgency later in the game, but it proved to be too little, too late.
What? We ran the clock out down 2 scores. We ran SIX TIMES on that drive, taking our sweet-ass time getting up to the line over and over and over. It was beyond belief.

There was NO sense of urgency at all.

The most glaring thing to me isn't that we don't have big enough or fast enough guys. The most glaring thing was the disorganized chaos that I hadn't seen from a Gator team in a while.
BINGO.

I wasn't pissed about the talent thing, that is what it is. But the hideous execution and terrible play calling was enough to make you want to shoot yourself. Being down two scores with ten minutes left, THEN deciding to be a running team was so moronic it was hard to put into words. So Mullen blows it by running 7 minutes off the clock, THEN decides that UF is suddenly a great defense and by God we're gonna stop 'em - we don't need no onside kick.

It was far and away the worst coaching job Mullen and the rest of his crew have had since he got here. It was a massive disappointment.

At what point is that one Hev? Isn’t his responsibility at some point to step up and say - stop planning these plays, my guys cant consistently execute them? Or better yet - we need to do “x”, its all they can do!

It's the entire O staff, but mostly Mullen. This deep in the season and the rush game no better, you'd think we'd try some different things, but football coaches are a prideful lot and can be very hard-headed. It can be a great trait when you finally overcome. Trouble is, we're still waiting with three games remaining.

Well, Im sure they look good against the scout team and our 1s and 2s.

At this point it's all walk throughs, but the bigger point you make is that there's no fear of the bench for the most part.

@Zambo made a point that should be noted about some disorganization among the O staff. That drives me up the wall. Makes me feel like the position coaches/GAs are doing more spectating while the rotational players are sometimes not fully engaged. You're gonna have some instances as complex as the formations and substitutions have become, but they can't be at critical times in big games. Gives kid of a "not ready for prime time" feel. The results speak for themselves.

My issues with the game,

1. Buchanan and Heggie were brutalized. Forsythe was too slow. I thought Gouraige was the best of the bunch.

2. This is similar to point 1. I never thought we'd win the game for the same reason as last year. We simply do not have the talent up front. Our DTs can't get any push as pass rushers. Most importantly, our talent on the o-line is atrocious. As we all know, there is no quick fix in that area. For it to get fixed, recruiting has to improve. I can't wait for the day when we have an actual LT playing LT. Forsythe, like Ivey, is a RT playing LT.

3. Trask grew up again. With each game his decision making becomes quicker and quicker. I'm really excited to see what he can do for the rest of this season and the next. To Smart's credit, I think he had Trask confused a bit.

4. This may have been Mullen's worst game as a coach. He tried to get cute with so many different formations he shot himself in the foot.

5. One more time, move Jeremiah Moon to Reese's or Miller's position next season. UGly often let a back or tight end block him one on one. That is how little they think of him as a pass rusher. He sucks at it.

Referring to the fact that we found a way to score twice. If we could have pulled that off in the first half, we'd all be much happier this morning, now wouldn't we?

Doing the same thing over & over, expecting different results is the definition of insanity...and I had really hoped we had learned from our past miscues...so much for hope this year...damn people I have to live with this sh*t 19 miles west of Athens.

The air has been let out of the balloon and now you will go cry in a corner. Yes this loss stings but we were in it and had a chance. You could not say that the last ten years. The coaches have to sell the program to the five stars now for us to move forward. That will take awhile untill the facilities improve. This year I have really enjoyed Trask getting his time and donkey eating crow. I know it is not much but this forum has become a real news source for Gator sports and the articles by cover 2 and others are far superior to the national write ups.

I blame a lot on coaching. What did we do all bye week, the kids didn’t look ready especially our secondary. Offensively we couldn’t get the correct players on the field for the play and looked confused on several others?

And DM needs to review his short yardage play calling. I agree third and inches QB dive works probably 90% of the time heck line up in a I formation use a o lineman for the fullback. It shouldn’t be a repeated problem.

That game was very winnable. We knew who they were and let’em off the hook!

I was freaking out as we ran the clock down to single digits every play in the 4th quarter.

Thanks for the write-up C2. Agree with most of it but at this moment, I'm still pissed. That was an atrocious product that we put on the field. Here's my stream of consciousness fueled by my second cup of coffee:
  1. Dan made some stupid play calls like running Trask, bringing EJ in for one play, etc. These are for the most part wasted plays and stop the flow of the game. And he continues to do this in every game.
  2. I understand that he wants a running game (and agree with the need), well then, manufacture one. Try something different because what we've been doing game after game with this o-line is not working. Can anyone say fullback, jet sweeps, etc.? (C2 did).
  3. The team was the most disorganized and undisciplined that I have seen in a while. That's on the coaches and the leaders. And this is the thing that I am most pissed about (followed closely by 3rd an Grantham).
  4. I have never liked Grantham and I still don't. Thank you Todd for the Auburn game, but get the hell out of here. Third and f'ing Grantham!
  5. There's dead weight on this staff including Grantham. That's on Dan, fix it dude!!!
  6. As some have said, we are not DBU, maybe CTU (Can't Tackle University).
  7. On Friday, I had no worries about Missouri. Sunday morning, I do.
  8. I with Ox on the time management on that long scoring drive. I don't mind running the ball. Danielson was correct, you've got 4 downs, opens things up. But do you have to spend 30 seconds to run every friggin play?

I think it's time to stop the t-shirt pre game warm up. I couldn't help but think we looked like a team playing 2 hand touch the whole game. We never tackled Fromm (not even sure we got 2 hands in him), our line seems to just try to get in the way instead of blasting someone off the line, our DB's couldn't tackle a scarecrow, Perine continues to do more dancing than knocking someone on their azz and Trask looks scared to be touched and wilts like a dead fern on called QB runs. This team just isn't tough and the t-shirt modeling audition before the game is a joke. Put the damn pads on and get ready to f**k someone up dammit.

Before the game, everyone talked about UGA's enormous talent advantage. Seems to me that the game proved they were correct. We may not have to have equal talent, but we certainly must come closer to their level.
Because I expected our O-LINE to be bad, I picked us to be 8-4. Oddly, about all that surprises me is that I haven't seen improvement in the O-LINE. Unlike law, I didn't expect a good line by this point, but I did think that they would have improved by now. Have they?

Excellent cover Cover. Sum your teammates posted well also.
Did USCe match this team enough to beat them? Muscat beat Kirby.

Trask is good; we need 3 things to help him--
1) OL pass blocking for time
2) OL run blocking that allows RBs to slash
3) Better game plan, cognizant of what we've got that works. Perine doesn't work, so go with the other 2.??

Terribly sorry we lost. More sorry about the way we lost: DB slop.

I think there's no question how much Savage has helped this roster, but spiritually we seem to be stuck somewhere between thinking we can and knowing we can. You can eventually mold an average player into a good one if he's willing to work, but it takes time. We might have too many of these kids on the roster and not enough immediate impact types, particularly with the OL and secondary. Time is something you haven't got during the course of a season.
