IF he was interested. IF he was on campus. IF Florida State had the funds. IF any of these typically spectacular coaching rumors could be believed.

Until then, he was on a layover before heading to Gainesville to meet with Fuchs.
Well he was a DC....and we might could use one :scratchchin:

They ain’t gonna land Bob without the money he’ll need for a great staff either. This will be a hell of a feat for a university I was repeatedly told couldn’t afford to fire Willie cause it would set them back a decade.

Nearly 20 years of Bob Stoops rumors. The guy has become the Loch Ness Monster of college football.

Pretty sure he's pulling this from a pay site somewhere.

Cause UF likely offered him peanuts.

I know there will always be the faction that supports Foley and points to all the ancillary benefits and overall sports picture under his watch. But if this turned out to be true, it all but guarantees Stoops would’ve come here in one of the three vacancies we had, and we (JF) were simply not willing to commit respectable funds. Seeing a guy who had connections here, knows Spurrier personally and had a condo within an hour and a half, now coaching a rival who has none of those things, would be the ultimate slap in the face. I can’t imagine anyone still being able to defend him at that point.

Lot of the rumors suggesting it’d be announced within a week or 2. Hell, they may have him in place to coach against us in a couple weeks. Lol

I’m all for anyone that slaps Foley in the face

I cannot give that. It’s been in the works for a month. It is someone on the inside that knows. Being a life long gator fan I hate to see this come about :-(.
I'm not asking for names, but what is this person's standing with the program?
"Inside" could just be head of the janitorial crew :dunno:

If Bob Stoops coaches FSU it will be the biggest slap in the face to the Gators, ever. Completely unforgivable. They surpass Georgia as our most hated rival.

Insiders say willie was on life support after wake game. They gave him the um game to redeem himself. Boosters were already collecting the cash pile. After the um debacle , they acted swiftly

Sounds like we’re screwed big time again. Just another coach that Mullen will face annually that will field a more talented team than us. Mullen will really be screwed in recruiting if this happens.
