My hope is that they had a deal in place with Stoops and that's how they got boosters to write checks, but now he's had a change of heart leaving FSU back at square one, only now with egg on their face and no plan B. Is that wrong of me?
Not even a little.

WiLLLLLLLie ain't suing them he's got $17 million reasons not to, and probably has specific contract language to ensure he cannot sue.
I don’t think it’s Willie they’re worried about. Maybe an agent who’s client would like a look at the job but wasn’t given the chance to interview. Like the nfl Rooney rule.

The plot thickens....

Carey Murdock (@CareyAMurdock) tweeted at 11:28 AM on Tue, Nov 05, 2019:
Spoke w/ Bob Stoops this morning. He tells me the rumors/reports of him being a candidate for the Florida State job opening are not accurate. Says he was at the new Hard Rock Casino all day yesterday and at a Dan Marino Foundation party last night. Not interviewing for FSU job.

You can bet your culo the next guys buyout is going to trump Willlllllllie’s. What coach is going to go in there knowing the natives will grow restless in a year and a half? Any agent will make sure the buyout is bigger than Willlllllllie’s and the contract is going to be ridiculous. The best part is, they will overpay for a mediocre coach. Pretty kewl ;) (Mullinz is mediocre - said it for you)

The WTXL story about FSU “nearing” a deal on Bob Stoops is now 21 hours old. Are we yet to the point of poring over coordinator possibilities? I’m pretty sure this is where this whole thing is headed.

Buddy of mine is a Vol and his wife is Null, so he’s following the story a bit. He was telling me tonight how this Stoops thing has a familiar feel to it. He was wondering if Stoops was the guy the wealthy alums were all OK with and now that he’s out, they’ll all have a different idea for #2. He says we’ll know if they’ve sunk to UT depths if we hear the names Shiano, Leach, or Gruden.

I hope they don't end up with The Pirate. I *like* Mike Leach. But the fact he was willing to go to UT tells me he would probably go to FSU if they offer. *ugh*

I don't see why they wouldn't go in house and offer Odell Haggins full time....like LSU did with Coach O. Dude is a lifelong Seminole, and has been one of the top recruiters in the nation for while.

Agreed it’s too bad, but not sure I blame him. If you were Stoops, would you pt yourself in a position to answer to Foley? If I’m him, no way.

Foley wasn't the AD in the 2017 search and he said no to SOS when he reached out.
