Florida is up 61-40 at the under 8 timeout. Rims still bouncing hard, but more consistent shooting this half from both teams

Most important thing to me now is no injuries and no late game cold snap that lets the other team back in.

For some reason we keep allowing UNF to hit 3s

UNF loser flashing a 3 at the crowd down 15. Run his ass over

Florida is up 67-52 at the under 4 timeout. The rim doesnt look bad for North Florida who is launching 3pters and making them this half

Defense has looked great today aside from the 3s allowed. But what concerned me is the offense like so many times last year, has been cold down the stretch, allowing UNF to stay in shouting distance. Without blackshear coming in to settle things we would be saying "here we go again." Finishing games still needs work

Very sloppy performance but I like what I see overall so far.
I assumed they would struggle a little for the first few games
Blackshear is the player we have needed for awhile now
I am surprised at how much better Mann looks than Lewis but I know Scottie will get it together
As others have said, we actually have multiple big guys with some ability

The competition picks up quickly so hopefully our guys ramp it up.

Yup. Blackshear pretty much single handedly prevented two cold streaks from becoming more troublesome.

20 pts 10 rb for backshear

Florida wins 74-59. Overall jump shooting was down tonight, but overall a pretty solid opener. Now FSU is next. Have to break the streak and beat them

Lewis did make some extreme athletic plays though, especially some rebounds.

I thought he’d be far and away the best freshman early do to his defensive mindset. But he’s even struggling there right now.

He will still be lights out though.

I really like this team. Good length-good hands-quick feet-defensive mentality. By mid season this team will be really clicking.

We're gonna be ridiculous later in the season. I like what I've seen

I think it was more of a lapse of defensive intensity/focus down the stretch than anything else. We scored on them pretty much at will for all but the first few minutes of the game. Any time they made a few 3s, we'd call a TO, settle down...and then restore a 15+ point lead and force a few turnovers.

White will straighten that out in future games; but hopefully for Sunday in particular.

On a brighter side: we were ice-cold from the 3...yet comfortably won. That's been a rare thing for our team these last few years.
