That is an interesting question. What happens here if they lose those 2 games - does a true freshman QB starting save his job for another year and does he even want to stay if he could go to another team. He knows he isn't going to get as talented players at Arkansas.

That is my point. 2 years ago AU was coming off an SEC champ game appearance so Goose landed himself a big fat raise. So even if they lose those last 2 games I doubt they fire him given some of the youth at QB and if they do they will owe him a boatload. But let's say ARK comes calling again, with the same money he is making at AU and a disgruntled fan base if he loses the last 2? He might say well fkk it, I can make the same at ARK where they like me, have not won a conf. game in 3 years and I will be given leeway b/c to them he will have some cache where as Morris was coming in from SMOO. At some point Goose may choose quality of life with equal money but who knows?

Gus to Arky now?

Makes sense

If Auburn lets him go for losing to uga and bama, then yes. I imagine they'll wait and see what happens in that front while keeping in contact with Norvell. He played for Central Arkansas. Either hire will please the fanbase.

I am sure we are going to hear the same names, but I have to think ARK waits patiently and is going to go all in on Goose Malzahn. I think especially if AU drops home games to end the season against both UGA and Bama, the fans will say okay, you guys can have him this time. And Goose will listen intently b/c the money will not be an issue,.

Gus should make the move. The writing is on the wall for him at Auburn. He'll do well at Arkansas, he'll be able to keep most of the (little) in-state talent, and pull from Texas, Alabama and other areas he's recruited for years. Auburn wants him gone so bad they'd probably waive the buyout. Or they could fire him and he could cash in twice (from the buyout and the new job at Arkansas). Either way, this is Arkansas - and Auburn's best course of action.

Gus can do better than Arky.

Donkey wore that avatar with the same pride a WWII vet sports his medals.....at least until the 40 point curb stomping Bert put on Butters...

He's about to get fired by Auburn, which is arguably a top 15 program. What other program would be better than Arkansas that would want him? FSU?

If he gets canned (and it’s likely) those are the two schools I could see him landing at.
