Where does Franks end up transferring to?

I think you mis-read his statement or you just don't understand the concept.

"You’re confusing leadership and likership" That's not what he said.
Most assuredly not. Read it again:
I agree with most that It’s time for him to move on to where he can play. Funny thing about leadership....it’s determined by the ones you lead.
As he said later, leaders command respect - i.e. their leadership skills translate no matter who the personnel are. If his statement was true, Franks would be considered a good leader because everyone spoke so glowingly of him. But the proof is in the puddin - he’s not. Just a guy that everyone liked. Whole team transformed when a good leader came along, except the OL. No amount of leadership fixes that train wreck.

I agree with Ox, football is over for Franks. He's not getting the job back from Trask and if he transfers, he's sitting a year and maybe switching positions.
I would have to think he would have his degree by the end of spring; if not he could always go the FCS route.

My statement was true but not because his coaches and teammates “liked” him even though they apparently did. It was because he earned their respect. Not yours....but he wasn’t leading you nor were you in a position of leadership over him.

I’m sure the Navy is different but in the Marine Corps a new 2ndLt is challenged every day by his troops. Yes they will salute you, call you sir and do what you say. But you have to earn their respect. As a Mustanger when I became a 2Lt I counseled many of my peers on just how that is done.

As with any young person that decides to become a Gator they become part of The Gator family. I would like to see Franks get his degree and become successful in life not just in football.
I thank him for becoming a Gator and wish him nothing but the best for his future, all that being said I think he needs to see his future a QB is not at Fl.

Not as green as you seem to think. And I did a tour at PI - I’m familiar with Marine leadership though not as familiar as yourself.

I still hear from my last SNCOs and NCOs (marining it for you) all the time. In fact, a second class (SGT) at my last unit and I are doing a telecon this week to help him get his first civilian job. He’s not the only one that’s reached out for Navy or post Navy career help. Or just to check in and see how everything is going with my family. But you’re right - probably just respecting the rank.

He cocks the ball down to his knees, and has a rainbow wind-up that I timed once at one hour and 13 minutes.

He'd be sacked in the NFL at least 10 times before he released a ball.

This was a drunk or a funny, but since the board owner is so hard headed to only include a limited selection of ratings, I went with drunk.

Do you not "like" something you think is funny?

I'll consider a "funny" vote when we upgrade the board in February.

My guess is you have earned their respect.

I now live down the street from a young Marine I put in the brig 31 years ago. Mutual respect to this day.

We all have stories like that. I effectively ended a senior chiefs (E8) career with an investigation. I didn’t like it and he dang sure didn’t. But a year later, he found me and shook my hand - said he didn’t like the outcome but couldn’t have asked for a more professional handling of the issue. Facebook friended me that same day

Point is: maybe I misunderstood you but in the past when we’ve discussed leadership, we can’t agree on Franks. He’s just not a leader - his antics on the field and on the sideline show it clearly. But it’s cool to his teammates. Trask, on the other hand, is producing much better results and isn’t doing all the silly stuff Franks did. Seems to be really well respected too, based on comments. Similar to what you hear about Emory, who I think has a shot to be a fantastic leader, especially if he learns work ethic from Trask.

Good post. It encapsulates much of how I feel about Franks as well as Jones, who I think has a bright future here. I esp liked how EJ handled himself after the gorgeous deep ball he threw late in the win Saturday. Rather than put on a full demonstration for the camera, he trotted down the field and went about his work. It showed maturity.

I wish Franks well and thank him for his hard work in helping us get back on track. I like emotionally charged athletes when it’s done as an act of selflessness. Unfortunately, I never felt that way about Feleipe. His outbursts on the field and sideline always seemed wrapped up in himself.

Who knows? Maybe I wasn’t seeing him correct.

Franks is definitely a leader by virtue of his position on the team, but like anything else, there are all types of leaders including good ones and bad ones. IMO he was a bad one. Too immature. Just my opinion.
