If he gets canned (and it’s likely) those are the two schools I could see him landing at.
If he's smart he'll go to R-Kansas. He'll do well enough there to make it the last stop he needs before retiring.

He's about to get fired by Auburn, which is arguably a top 15 program. What other program would be better than Arkansas that would want him? FSU?

BMF, who are you guessing Auburn’s top 1 or 2 candidates would be if they fire Gus?

I have no clue honestly. His buyout is massive though, so that could be a factor....but it seems the powers that be at Auburn (big money boosters) want him gone. There's a ton of candidates, but Auburn is a very good job, so I suspect it will be a proven coach (like Norvell, or Campbell, Willie Fritz, Seth Littrell or Bill Clark (long shots) - probably a lot of the names we'll see for the FSU job).

Except he beat LSUX2, your Boy Freezex2, your other Boy Butters....by about 100 points AND wait for it....Mullen too....oh I guess he did win some SEC games with Div 3 talent which is all anyone will get at Arky if they aren't paying them like Nutt and Petrino.
Nobody's winning at Arky.
I gave you a like for loyalty. Misguided perhaps, but loyalty nonetheless.

You are a lying POS. I want you to go back and find ONE POST that showed I was enamored with Butters. I hated the hire. I had never heard of the schmuck and thought we could have actually hired a real coach.
I have done my best to forget that whole hiring, so please forgive the stupidity of this question, but who were the candidates we were looking at back then? In hindsight of course, I can think of some we should have hired.

Wonder why Les Miles hasn’t been mentioned yet?

I was thinking the same thing why with these openings, and potential openings, why wasn't Miles being mentioned. I looked him up and saw he was 66 years old. Maybe his age is a factor.

Miles is solid, but he's not a home run hire. I don't think Miles could do that much better at Auburn than Malzahn has. All of these schools are delusional in thinking they are going to hire the next savior coach who is going to make them a top 5 team year in and year out. Ain't going to happen. They fire their coach, end up having to pay big buyouts, and then end up not getting who they wanted or thought they could get. Then their program is set back for years trying to recover.

That being said, FSU should have fired Taggert and Arkansas should have fired Morris. Those programs were going backwards. But I don't think Auburn should be so quick to send Malzahn packing. I think they would be better off by not turning off players like Gatewood while sucking up to home boy Nix Jr.

I don’t think AU fires GM. Arkansas hiring Les Miles does make some sense, regardless of the age.

I'd take 10 mil to get fired. Wonder who they'll hire next.
Like the mysterious character in Stephen King's Storm of the Century said, "give me what I want and I'll go away." The Hogs will give Chad what he wants to go away.

If Auburn fires him there is going to be some jockeying between schools going on for the good coaches. I think Gus is a good coach and can do better than Arky. Hell, he would be the best FSU could do, assuming Bob Stoops won't take the job. FSU is probably an equal job to Auburn.

Things change fast in college football, a few weeks ago Harbaugh was on the hottest seat in the nation and now he's safe.

Sure, Gus could - probably - do better than Arkansas. BUT, that is all dependent on what jobs are open. Right now, it seems, FSU is the only equal or "better" option (there will be other openings as the season winds down, but will any of them be a better option?). This could be a situation like Dana Holgersen last year. WVU is a P5 job and Houston is a G5 job...but they offered more money and a it was/is a better situation for Holgersen. Gus could be in the same boat w/ Arkansas. It's obvious the power people at Auburn want Gus gone. Gus could use this to his advantage. However, he has a better chance of winning a title at FSU (ACC or NC).

This is comical:

I thought the whole idea of attempting to hire a new coach was to consistently get a better one. Pardon the vernacular but it appears Fat Pg Sooey crowd has it all wrong as they go from WORSE, to WORSER to WORSEST.
