SEC referee response?

I looked around to see if/when the SEC responded to Mullen's request for explanation on the missed calls in the GA game and the difference in calls between GA and Vandy game respect to the catch completion. Has anybody seen where a response was issued or Mullen talks about getting one? I am still curious what possible excuse can be made for some of those bad calls.

For the record, I'm not complaining or saying that the calls would have changed the outcome I really just want to know how the SEC can justify such bad calls.

Oh yeah, they replied by calling the exact same "catch" as a non catch this past weekend.

That's what I mean -- really? How can they even look themselves in the mirror in the morning with that kind of judgement?

When I watched the replay, you could clearly see Mullen saying, “that’s the same exact play as last week”. I liked that response. Neither were a catch but you can’t change definitions from one week to the next, which is what he was yelling about.

if it was handled it was outside of the media.. as it should be. But at the end of the day, it was a bad call. There are over a 100 each week over the different games, can't address them all to the media.

Their response was calling it correctly when our player let the ball hit the ground. Doesn't make you feel any better about the bad call against UGA, but they got it right this time.

Refs don't respond when they are called out. They are a protected species who answer to no one.

Mullen should not have protested the correct call in the 2nd game.....JFC.....one crew and game has nothing to do with a different crew and game the next week....Birmingham fcked up the review in the first instance....file complaint with Stankey and let it go!

That's really my issue, the review. To me it just say's "meh, they called it a catch and lets just go with that". Nevermind the ball clealy hitting the ground and aiding in the receivers ability to maintain control of the catch. It was inexcusable and whoever the moron/s was/were that let it stand should be suspended. No excuse!

Disagree. My guess is that the either hadn’t received a response from the league on the overturned call or they received an unsatisfactory response. He was making a point - be consistent as it effects the outcomes of games. If they aren’t called out as a league, they’ll never improve. At a minimum, he created a story with some journalists and built some good will with frustrated fans.
