Supposedly FSU President flew out to Dallas to close the deal. 20 page thread on Whorechant. My FSU booster friend says he's skeptical but hopeful since his sources he says are high up.

Weren't they surprised when they found out Stoops wasn't in Dallas but in Connecticut.

According to "FSU Kenney" they are meeting with his agent in Dallas. He is the coach of the Dallas Renegades but paid nowhere near what FSU is offering: $8 million per year.

Is Sexton in Dallas currently or is Stoops the only guy in coaching not use him as his agent?

Well at this point it seems at the very least Bob Stoops is entertaining the idea of going to FSU. I just don't understand why he was so quick to turn us down when SOS called him up. Not a good look for us.

Would you want to work for Fooley? Remember he knows exactly what that dude is like.

Foley was not the AD in 2017. And if you want to say that he was still influencing the AAD, then how do you explain Mullen? Foley hated Mullen.

Here is how I would explain this scenario given that Fooley was no longer the AD, was or was not pulling the puppet strings or has any say. But what can't be argued is that Fooley's stench still is in abundance, therefore:

Stoops: Has won at the highest level and been at a program with an 80 year history of football and at a place where they care about football and will do ALMOST anything it takes to remain relevant. Upgrade facilities but never short the football program just to catch up in other areas.

Mullen: Had never previously coached at a top 10-15 job and realistically speaking was probably not on anyone's list who might be considered a top 10-15 job. Fooley hated him and I am sure the feeling is mutual, but if you have never had a top 10-15 job, you can't afford to balk at probably the only one who might call you up.

That would be my view on the difference

I don’t fear Stoops any more than any other competent coach.
What I am disappointed about is that we have not been able to flip the field in recruiting.
Looks like they will still have better team talent (than us) next year.

The contract is expected to be a 5 year, $35 million dollar contract and will provide for significant more staffing than what Willie Taggart was provided

It’s gonna be a very bad look on us if this happens. Fsu making this happen, just shows how much more they’re committed to having a winning football program then we are. It’s being rumored that they’re offer him like 7-8 million a year. I thought they were cash strapped?

Yeah, the issue is UF failed to take advantage of the window they were given when FSU was in the toilet. It's inexcusable.
