Will they care about the 10 losses?A month from now no one will care that we only won by 6.
I said it last night in the box, we’ve only had a tiny handful of transition baskets so far this year. It’s infuriating. What bothers me is our tendency just like last year when a big grabs a defensive rebound and flips it to a guard who then dribbles across the midline in the corner and scratches crabs until all players are down court and standing around. Why not drive hell bent to the basket, attract the defenders and either make the slashing play or the pass to the wing. that man can shoot an uncontested three or hit another slasher who is by then flying to the basket. If that situation doesn't present itself he can stand around and scratch crabs until everyone is set up and start a set play. Maybe Lee or someone can explain why this is a bad approach.

Payne is averaging 6 PTs and 5 RBs on just 13 minutes/game, and shooting over 70%. He is what he is, a rebounder/dunker, but pretty solid #s for a true Freshman so far. That's 5 minutes too many. And I was talking about Payne taking Johnson's spot, not KBJs. I know it is unlikely as KJ is playing well. I just love Payne's game.
I guess you counting on sea level rises or UGAY losing to A&M and Barn? Hoping for that sort of distraction? This team in NOT good right now and that's against inferior teams. Wait till we have to deal with SEC play.A month from now no one will care that we only won by 6.

The optimist in me says that the team pulled through on an off night when the other team was making uncharacteristic shots and having their best night. That will happen and winning this type of game early gives us confidence and experience when the stakes are higher in a conference game on the road.
The pessimist in me says that this was piss-poor focus from a team that had 5x the talent as their opponents and should have blown the doors off the building...especially coming off a loss. White has a LOT to answer for when we struggle this much after a top 5 recruiting class with an All-American caliber big transfer AND we returned several starters and key performers from last year's team (Nembhard, Locke, and KJ...but even Bassett can be useful and is good bench cover).
The realist in me says this team is gelling and should be better as the season goes on as the parts start coming together.
It’s not talent. It’s coaching. White sucks.
Everybody that he has brought in who has been good offensively has turned to dog crap. Every year he has been here.
The guy is just a bad coach.

I'm a bit more measured: a LOT of our problems stem from our guys missing wide-open looks. Kick-out 3s to wide-open guys are being missed at an alarming rate this year...and I've lost count of how many times Nembhard and a few others have slashed to the rim and missed the bucket (whether or not a foul was called). Even then, there's an appreciable amount of foul shots we've been missing.
Again: White has a LOT to answer for. We should be better than out record and eye test shows, based on who we returned and who we added. I expect more and if we aren't an Elite 8 team at the end of the year, then White needs to be reevaluated. On present evidence, I'm as concerned as you are.
It has everything to do with practice. And scheme. These guys are all able to shoot in high school and come here and suck.
Hell when he took over for BD, we hadguys who could shoot and the following year couldn’t shoot anymore.
He is the Muschamp of our b-ball program.
Loves defense. Hates offense. Good recruiter with unbalanced classes.
We're mostly in agreement; though I have to say this year was pretty balanced in terms of elite talent and depth at multiple positions.
I should have been more specific. This class was good. But like Muschamp, one class will meet needs. Then the next will be full of holes/suck. The inconsistencies and uneven recruiting lead to unbalanced classes/teams/years.
