I believe it’s his nephew according to the article. In any event, he’s officially Gator bait while he flips 100 times over the next 3 years.

*edit. It’s his cousin.:embarrassed:

Okay, obviously we take this with a grain of salt b/c the kid is in 9th grade and he probably will flip a dozen times, but...he’s a legacy Gator living 90 minutes away from our campus. How in the hell our staff allowed this to happen is very frustrating. Not a good look for our ace recruiting staff.

Sorry should change title to a Kirby come to Jax kicks our ass & takes bounty back up north while Grantham figures 3rd down & Dan looks for the right wrist bands.

Not minimizing our staff’s failures in the recruiting front, because they’re obvious. But as much as we love the nostalgia of the game being played in Jax, this is partly a byproduct of that. The dogs have always had a major presence in Duval and largely due to the cocktail party. I can’t even visit friends without getting nauseous at the red and black that has infested that place. It’s a joke.

Again, not our only problem as far as recruiting and we’ve always been fine even with that presence. Just a general observation.

Well, in the kids defense, Kirby will still be there, running the dawg defense when / if the kid graduates. There is a good chance Grantham will not be here.

How exactly is being someone's cousin make you a legacy?

Meh, nothing really to see here, the days of legacy's meaning anything have long gone. The only thing its worth now is perhaps a courtesy visit for ma or pa.

Didn't Dee Webb accidentally shoot off his Oozie 9mm in his apartment with a few of his teammates in the same room?

I don't remember that. But he was one of the first early NFL departures that barely got drafted, leading to a long stream of kids leaving early to end up being busts.

This kid is a "cousin" of Dee Webb, this could easily be a situation like Ethan Pouncey (DB recruit) who is a "cousin" of the Pouncey twins and has never even met them. Dee Webb left UF about the time this kid was born, so the 'legacy' thing is a reach.

If memory serves me, it was shot at the outside of someone else's apartment. He, along with Kenneth Tookes and a few others decided to shoot up the place as kind of a joke. But come on. We were all in college once.

I remember reading about it but can't recall the details of what happened.
