You’re all over the place. You say he’s changed the offense then acknowledge that he still makes Trask run up the gut. All he’s done is stop calling as many running plays - that’s not changing the offense, just the execution. My point is that he would have to change the offense to the point where Trask doesn’t need to threaten the defense with his legs at all. Because he has a bunch of offensive assistants that have primarily worked only in his system, I don’t even think he has people on staff who could make a different system work.

Not at all what I said. I said Trask is incapable of running between the tackles, which is key to making Mullen’s running scheme click.

I called for Trask to be assaulted? You should work on your reading comprehension.

Trask is my favorite player on the team. I want to see him have a shot at the next level. Being jerked around next year won't help him get there.

It doesn't seem like it. You, the owner of the largest Gator sports forum should not posting things like "Wouldn't totally shock me if Mullen sets up some kind of Nancy Kerrigan-esque assault on Trask's knee so he can justify not playing him."

I will say this about Jones. He showed improvement throughout the season. He can throw a pretty deep ball and he’s shifty running the ball in traffic.

But against LSU and Georgia he looked overwhelmed at times. That concerns me.
The dude has been in what - 10% of the plays this year? He’s got no experience, of course those big moments will be tough for him. And even then, he contributed to successful TD drives against LSU. I think he would be very good if given the chance.

It was called hyperbole to make a point. No one other than you would take it seriously. I thought it was rather amusing myself.

And boy, I wish we were the largest. Maybe someday.

I think a lot of people were surprised at EJ's throwing ability. He definitely needs more in-game work.

That’s exactly what I’m saying so what have I written that you disagree with? Maybe we’re just in violent agreement.

I don't think Trask is nearly as much of a detriment to our run game as our OLine is. Just saying. If the OLine gets stronger and better with their techniques so we can have a half way decent run game, Trask is the man.

Trask will absolutely not transfer. No way. Now...:will someone convince him to declare? I’m not sure. If he’s here....he starts.

My point is some of these players probably read this trash we write here. As a group we shouldn't be advocating for the coach to Kerrigan them.

I live in South FL. Amy Fisher, the porn star/Long Island Lolita lives one neighborhood over. So does Vanilla Ice's ex wife. Vanilla lives a few blocks away too. Too much violence, we're all pacifists now.

I wasn't advocating anything violent. I was making a point that Mullen would probably be secretly relieved if Trask was not around so he could implement his offense.

I think it would be awesome if the players read Gatorchatter but sadly I don't think they do.

Lol, maybe so. You doubted Mullen being willing to stick with Trask because of it going against his run-first philosophy. I replied that he done just that and that there were still plenty of opportunities for the running game to be productive, yet it wasn’t.

On this last point, Trask being zero threat to run, esp between the tackles, which when it works makes it harder for defenses to protect the outside, we appear to be in agreement.

I think he went with Trask because of necessity, maybe Jones just wasn’t ready. And I don’t think he’s changed his offense, just his playcalling. Same playbook that requires the QB to be a running threat though. I don’t think Mullen can make an offense work efficiently if his QB isn’t straining the defense with his legs.

Can’t disagree with anything there other than labels. Changing the play calling to me is the same as changing the offense.

One only need look to Tim Tebow and Dak Prescott for examples of the prototypical Mullen QB. That ain’t Kyle Trask.

Ok I get it now.

I would be shocked if players didn't read this stuff. I know an SEC player and he reads all the forums constantly.

Why does the running game all of a sudden look decent when Jones is in? Would need someone who understands blocking schemes better to weigh in but is it possible the blocking schemes we use now don’t work because the defense totally disregards the QB as a runner?

Sadly, I don’t think he was. There’s a dark side there that we all just dance around because we like the site and/or have too many Ox bucks to risk. If a comparable forum popped up tomorrow and there was a strict assurance of a smooth transfer, I think several people would come forward with concerns.

We're just gonna let that go?
