Hey OX, to explain it simply and clearly, folks should stop blaming the NFL ((and the media) for Tebow's not making it as a professional QB. He had his chances, and he couldn't cut the mustard.
I don't recall you having such idiotic takes in the past. You've really showed your ass in this thread.

I'm still a huge fan of yours.

You’re conveniently leaving out the other half of the equation - the amount of media attention he brought would not be acceptable to executives for a backup. And the sad part about that is he was doing positive things but ESPN and the rest of the media painted it as divisive. You want to see agenda in the media look at the enduring coverage of Tebow and Kap. Tebow was essentially run out of football for being an open and devout Christian - talk show people claimed that is divisive (how? Find me anywhere that Jesus was anything but inclusive. I’d also challenge anyone to find one instance of Tebow being divisive or non-inclusive). Kap hasn’t played in years but ESPN is still trying to find a way to get him employed because of his divisive antics. And all those defenders out there, I don’t care if you think its not divisive - the reaction to what he did objectively demonstrates that it was. I’m not debating whether it was right or wrong, only that it was divisive.
Tebow wasn’t run out of the league for being religious. That’s such a blatant and obvious lie that keeps getting repeated over and over and over again. He was given a chance with what, five or six teams? He couldn’t complete 50% of his passes, he relied on a championship defense and elite kicker in 2011, and he could barely read defenses or run a competent offense. It had not one single iota to do with his Christianity, otherwise the NFL would be an awfully empty place.

No, it’s not a lie. It’s somewhere in the middle. I’m pretty sure there were some NFL backup stops in Tebow’s future that didn’t have a chance to materialize because of the “baggage” he carried.

You’re an idiot. Kap isn’t a good QB either and brings a ton of negative press with him. That’s indisputable. And his “sincerity” isn’t at issue - its what he does to a fan base that is. Tebow uses his fame to visit hospitals, shelters, etc. Kap kneels during the national anthem because he knows it’ll cause a stir. I’m sure he’s done some other community stuff but none of that started before the backlash from his stunt meant to generate attention. Tebow’s deeds were authentic and would’ve happened with or without fame.

Worst decision Kap ever made was dating that radical DJ. Ever read her stuff? She’s a loon and a major reason he can’t get an interview. No one wants to be seen as endorsing her.

When the Ravens were considering Kap, she compared the Ravens owner a slave owner. If she stays quiet, I think they would have signed him.

No, it’s a lie. He’s not on a roster because he’s not a capable NFL quarterback. I suppose he’s also not on the Mets because he’s religious and it has nothing to do with his .150ish batting average at AAA?

Cowboys vs. Lions - Box Score - November 17, 2019 - ESPN

Jeff Driskel had another competent game, throwing for 209 yards and 2 TDs while rushing for 51 yards and 1 TD. Validates Trask’s pro prospects, provides further proof that Muschamp is not qualified to coach a major college football team, and puts haters deeper into the bottle. How did Muschamp not manage a competent offense with two QBs who would ultimately start in the NFL on his roster?

Discuss.

He lost, right?
I dunno, depends on perspective. He got paid a whole lot to start an NFL game - that’s winning. More than a lot of past Gator QBs can say. And you could easily argue that the loss wasn’t due to his shortcomings - no turnovers, relatively safe game with 3 TDs. Defense let Dallas score a bunch though - guess that’s his fault?

Kaepernick is being blacklisted. His protests are nothing more than attention whoring on the heels of begin benched.

He was cut for his failings as a QB.
FIFY

Even Stephen A. Smith, who is a complete dipshyt most of the time, said this jackass doesn't want to play, he wants to be a martyr. His "open workout" was grandstanding, at best, and the guy just flat out sucks.

Call it blacklisted or whatever you want to call it, but sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. Not all attention is good attention.

Seebee did you watch that game or just look at the boxscore…. Driskel played decently for a backup, but dallas defenders dropped four ints, LVE dropped two by himself. His legs did provide some help, but he was helped greatly by a Dallas defense not playing sound football and going for the hit instead of the tackle.

Driskel played ok, but still lost.
"With a full week of preparation, the offense looked good under Driskel He made plays with his feet and his arm, leading four touchdown drives. He scored on a fake handoff keeper and hit Marvin Hall on an impressive deep-crossing pattern for 39 yards that set up his 11-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones that cut the Cowboys’ lead to 24-21 midway through the third quarter. Driskel completed 15 of 26 passes for 209 yards, threw for two touchdowns and had a 109.3 passer rating. He also had eight carries for 51 yards. Driskel still holds the ball a little too long, but he's good enough to give the Lions a chance to win, which means the team doesn't need to rush Matthew Stafford back."

The Detroit defense lost this game. Driskel gave them a great chance to get the W.

Losing is what the Lions do. It's what they live for. No matter the QB. I say this as a Lions fan since 1958.

Philly dropped at least 3 INTs against Brady yesterday, two in the end zone. Every QB gets away with a few. What’s your point?
