Turkey Day question for grins.

Suppose we had to go coach shopping again. Suppose the objective was to identify a former UF player to put the juice back in the program in an intelligent way. Suppose it was up to you to be the one to identify said player.

Who and why?

Always wished DW had gone into coaching. Between his tutelage under Spurrier, and calm yet killer demeanor, it would be as great a story as Spurrier in 1990. I think he’d be awesome.

The flip side of course to all of this is that if they don’t work out, you’re left criticizing and firing a former legend. One of the reasons I never wanted Bell.

Good point. I do think the upside potential outweighs the downside risk.

How about Shane Matthews? I’m sure he remembers the SOS playbook.

I have no idea if he'd be a good coach, but I have a feeling Tim Tebow would be a heck of a recruiter. The dude just motivates everyone, even people who don't like him

I like that because we would have a wide open offense (if he was to return to his Valdosta St days).

Brian Schottenhimer
Marquand Manuel would be a good hire on defense. he coached with Dan Quinn for a few years.

What the f vck is he talking about? A coach.....a player...or maybe a player coach? Old timer is either hitting the bottle early or off his meds again....

I need to dumb it down beyond “former player”? I may need some time with that.

Is he even out of the can yet?

May make him more relatable when recruiting the tough areas, but having a PO call mid game could be problematic.
