A temporary and short term gain which I'm sure they will regret later. Odom is a respectable 3 of 4 in games he should win and a remarkable 11 0f 29 (39%) in games he should lose. Hadn't done much for recruiting where Mizz regularly finishes in the bottom three of the SEC but it's Mizzo so I don't know what they expect.
Chad Morris was 0 for 4 in games he should win and 18% in games he should lose so you can understand that firing.

I think we, along with uga and the vols did Mizzou a terrible disservice by our being dumpster fires for the first 5-6 years of their joining the SEC. Winning the division back to back was enough to dupe them into believing they should be a legit contender annually.

Odom wasn't great. But what exactly are they expecting? If they never seriously contended for the B12, why would they feel they should be in the running every year for the SEC. Not to mention the significantly better jobs that are currently available right now. No way am I joining a coaching vacancy list with places like Usc(which could lead to Psu or Iowa St), fsu, Arkansas and maybe Auburn.

Curious about Mizzo's timing also. They're up against Arky for middle tier coaches (and FSU).

Just to see a prelim* look at how existing and some past SEC coaches compare going back to 2005.

You know, Mizzou is just the SEC outsider program to hire Leach but not sure the locals could stand his eccentric attitude. Maybe Arkansas.

Speaking of Leach - did you see him go off on that journalist? Hilarious.

SEC jobs don't come open every day. I think somebody from a lower level will jump on it. Missouri isn't the type of program to go land another P5 sitting head coach, but they're good enough to poach G5 coaches - look at the last few years: Louisville, Purdue, Minnesota, WVU, etc. Bill Clark has to be heading somewhere after this season. I've heard Auburn fans mention him, but I don't think most would be happy (and the job's not open - yet). Fritz has to be on the move too, he's done a great job there. He and Clark can both recruit the SEC footprint also. Mike Houston at ECU will be on some radars (although he had a rough first year there).

Missouri AD is currently heading north to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with a U-Haul full of teeth whitener.
