No doubt Thank you Kyle. Absolutely. My problem with Jboss's post is that Trask was a huge miss by the recruiting services. Meaning he always had the talent. And Mullen even knew it...he called 12 straight pass plays after Trask entered the Tucky game. I'll give some credit to Mullen but he also deserves criticism for NOT playing him as he is CLEARLY a better QB than FF.

Either way, Thank you Kyle Trask!
This is exactly where my head was all year. If franks is healthy we lose to the cats and maybe another and continue on the franks train?

We haven't had a savior step in like that since Danny tookover. He's should be even better next year as long as we have some WR step up next year.
The Danny comparison is apt. Humble kid but quiet leader, not the strongest arm in the QB room but throws guys open, both taking over as starter by salvaging a game against KY.

Because coaches are freaking stubborn as hell for the most part. That's the one thing about SOS I loved. You ain't getting the job done.....yanked!

I'm a huge fan of Trask. The kid has done everything right, and his skill at throwing the ball is easily the best of the 3 potential returning starters.

That being said, I'm not 100% convinced that we aren't going to be a better team next year with EJ as the starter. No, I don't think he'll be as good a passer as Trask was this year, however I think its definitely possible the offense is more potent with a dual threat QB. The thing is that right now he comes into the game and usually either one of two things happens.....they snap it to him and he immediately takes off running and the whole defense goes after him, or he fades back and finds an open receiver because the defense is keying on him running. I think its quite possible that if he was an every down player, the defense would have to respect the pass a lot more, which would give him more running lanes. Further, the dual threat qb thing opens up the option run (which is just a ridiculous scheme IMO when you have a Trask back there). But mainly, the thing that is really deadly to cfb defenses is a qb that can fade back, make a couple reads, and either deliver the ball to an open guy or THEN take off running and get good yards. Heck, one of the most effective things Burrow does is scramble when nothing is open.

In any event, its a good problem to have IMO. Big thanks again to Trask for saving our season and I wish nothing but the best for this kid going forward.

There comes along every so often a player that even fans of opposing teams and rivals can respect and like. Kyle Trask is one of those kinds of players.

@DK_Thompson: Kyle Trask (8.3 yards per attempt) ranks 5th all-time (tied with Rex Grossman) in UF history in yards per attempt of those with over 100 passing attempts.

I agree

Love what Kyle has done for us but EJ will be great. I like that he is a throwing QB who can run. I just hope they don't get too run happy with him.

@AllKindsWeather: Kyle Trask was a 2 star QB who hadn't started a game in 7 years. Under Dan Mullen, Trask finished the 2019 regular season 4th in the SEC in passing yards (2,636), 3rd in completion % (67.6%) and 3rd in TD passes (24) despite not being the starter until the 4th quarter of game 3.

Do you ever wonder how often Mullen is asked why this guy was sitting on the bench??
This puzzles me more that anything. How many Coaches have lost their job for betting on the wrong horse at QB? As smart as Mullen is he was obvious starting the wrong guy at QB.
Thank you Kyle for stepping up to the plate when your number was called.

Hey it's the thread where some guy was all pissy, called me a liar about us not averaging 300 ypg passing since 2001, demanded I provide the stats, then moved the goalposts.

Also, Trask's 24 passing TD's matches Franks' number for all of last season. Also, Trask split considerably more time with EJ...sometimes (I'll call it "LSU" and "UGA") to our detriment.
