The Ole Miss opening has thrown a potential monkey wrench into the process. You get the feeling that the trigger may be getting itchy in Tallahassee.

I think we both thought Mark Stoops was the best they'd get. If they do, I can't wait to see the price tag. He was already at $4.75 million I think, and UK would easily push him to $5.5 or so. Can you imagine FSU having to pay $6 million for that?

Stoops has one of the best contracts in CFB. With the win over Louisville it triggered an automatic extension...with a raise to $6.25 million/year in the last year of the contract.

When Kentucky defeated Louisville inside Kroger Field Saturday afternoon, the Cats beat their biggest rival and clinched their seventh win of the season. That same number, seven, also has ramifications for the Cats’ head coach, Mark Stoops, according to a new report by USA Today.

UK’s seventh win of the season triggered an automatic one-year contract extension for Mark Stoops. That sets the “end” to his contract at June 30, 2026. He’s now set to earn $6.25 million in that additional year. His contract reportedly calls for him to earn 75 percent of all scheduled, annual pay if he is ever fired without cause, which means his new “guaranteed” value for that extra year is just over 4.5 million dollars.

Last week’s win over UT Martin also earned Stoops a $100,000 bonus for becoming bowl eligible.

USA Today has been tracking college football’s bonuses and contract extensions all year. Louisville’s Scott Satterfield, Tennessee’s Jeremy Pruitt and Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher also earned $100,000 for their teams’ sixth wins, while Penn State’s James Franklin brought in $200,000 for the same achievement.

Starkville and Fayetteville are both close to great deer hunting. Starkville is closer to LA and the best inshore fishing on the US coast and I have a Lifetime LA hunting & fishing license. Starkville gets my vote.

Plus M'ssippi has permitless, aka Constitutional, carry, a state very friendly to law abiding gun owners.

I wonder what his buyout is now, in total?

Norvell and Haggins are the only two they can afford. If Ol Miss gets Norvell, and you would think they could, FSU is screwed. They needed a big hire to generate ticket sales and that ship has sailed.

Swinging and missing on Campbell isn't a failure by fsu. The dude has been turning people down left and right. He's even turned down one nfl job. Campbell wants Penn. St., Michigan, or Ohio st. Those are his dream jobs and he appears willing to wait. The PSU or Mich. job may be opening up soon and he knows it.

Ole Miss could have landed Norvell two years ago. They passed. This time around, he may be the one to pass. He’s reportedly been interested in the FSU opening from the get-go.

There is no agent more savvy than Jimmy Sexton, who represents Norvell and is likely the reason why FSU’s decision got pushed back a week. There’ll be some degree of bidding, and Norvell will leverage a heftier contract.

Regardless of our hate for FSU, this would be the best move for Norvell (especially if his options are Arkansas or Ole Miss). Imo, it would be a very good hire. His path to success is much, much easier at FSU than those to second tier SEC West schools. His 'baggage' is supposedly banging a co-ed, infidelity, and gambling. Not sure how much of that is true.

I posted this earlier, but here's a funny as sh*t picture of him in college at Central Arkansas (he was a part of a boys & girls club working as a mentor or something and told them he'd corn row his hair if the kids accomplished something or another, and they did):

Mullen’s done a solid job since landing here, but if it were to be done all over, I’d still take Norvell. He’s a brilliant offensive mind and a terrific recruiter. I don’t want to see him on the other sideline after Thanksgiving each year.

I cant say that I have any friends that went to Starkhell. I did have a friend from Ole Piss, and he brought a smoking wife with him. He was a 3.5-4.0 and she was a 10-11 (bonus for being nice as hell). He said there wasn't much competition for great looking women at Ole Piss by people with both intelligence and teeth.
Are you saying she was really good looking, but chill? Clearly you are not familiar with the crazy-hot matrix.
