And no one is mentioning Arky. I visited the Arky site and they are strongly considering Kiffin. Maybe Norvell just isn't interested, but Arky is fairly close to Memphis, so he'd have recruiting ties there.

But yeah, Sexton is going to juice this and he knows that Norvell is the last decent hire FSU can make at this point. I can't wait to hear the buyout numbers after the WiLLLLLLLie crap.

The rumor I heard is that he didn't appreciate how Arky didn't consider him 2 years ago, so now he's kinda giving them the cold shoulder. I don't know if that's true, but that's something I heard on the radio. My guess is that if Arky really wanted him, they could get him, but their AD is trying to do due diligence by interviewing multiple coaches.

Norvell may be telling teams that he doesn't want to discuss coaching vacancies until after Saturday or at least he wants to wait until later to consider all options. Not saying that's the case, but it's possible. If that's true, then there may be a bidding war for him come Sunday.

Thrasher also offered a quick update to the crowd on the Seminoles' search for their next head football coach.

“We will have some news soon on finding a football coach, but you will have to hold on a little longer," Thrasher said.””

Memphis board seems to think Norvell to FSU or he stays home. One poster said that he had actually spoken to Norvell in the offseason and Norvell was happy with the admin and how they kept giving him raises, so it would take a retirement contract to get him away. Another poster said they expected him to get a bump to $4mil this year. So if he does go to FSU, it really sounds like they'll have to pony up a long-term high dollar contract for a non P5 coach. With Sexton being his agent and the train wreck of a search that's its been, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the contract is going to look like.

On the flip side, Memphis looks favored to get a Cotton Bowl Bid. So Norvell would have to decide between a job that he's bulletproof at with chances to make New Year 6 bowls, possibly get picked up in a conference expansion, and make $4mil or more moving forward. Or go to FSU to rebuild, and know that they are broke as sh!t and your paycheck may bounce.

Their fans will go absolutely bat-schitt crazy if he turns them down to stay at Memphis. This could be epic.

It just depends on what Norvell wants for his career. If money is a big factor, then he would have to jump - we're talking at least a 50% raise. However, with that money comes huge pressure and huge expectations, something he isn't facing at Memphis. If he fails, they will tear him and his family apart in Tallahassee. Don't think he doesn't know it.

Scott Frost is an example of a guy that went from low pressure and beloved to the pressure cooker and personally despised by every fan in the state. He'll eventually be run out of town on a rail, with about 10 years taken off his life and his kids messed up until the end of time. Do you think he'd do it again if he had the chance?

Just guessing but I bet halfway through the season Frost was wishing he took our job.

This is point. Unless he's losing a number of starters to graduation and is concerned that he might have a drop off at Memphis next year, why leave right now, especially if he can secure a raise? There will always be head coaching vacancies each year and frankly, the current ones that he's being considered for are all terrible. Norvell should wait this out at Memphis another year and see what becomes available. The guy is 38 and will have plenty or more appealing opportunities throughout his career, don't ruin it by going to Crappy at this early stage.

I don't think FSU or Ole Miss are bad jobs or terrible places to live. There are definitely worse.

I'm sure Sexton is deep in negotiations for Norvell and Kiffin at multiple schools. If Muschamp and McElwain taught head coaches anything, it's get the contract and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out the buyout finances their family for decades and with any luck the next contract is a year away.

Its the end of FSU dominant football. It is a true snowflake school. There are only a handful of real hard-nose football boosters left. The new generation does not care. Their fan base is shyt. Hell I barely see any FSU flags, logos, plates and or stickers on cars anymore. It doesn't matter who they hire they will fall into the irrelevant directional school status forever.

While I think you went a bit overboard on the hyperbole, your question at the end is a great one and one I’d love to hear a bunch of coaches answer truthfully. I have to believe Frost is miserable and wondering why he ever left UCF, let alone not try for the UF job. Have to believe his family wishes they were still in Florida; especially this time of year.

Frost had to go back, just had to. He had to try to bring his alma mater back. Would not one of our favorite sons have tried to do the same for UF? Not saying part of him doesn't regret it, but he can know he tried. The money in failure is still green.

Sure, let's take coaching best practices from Musdump and Butterfvvck . The only thing they've taught us is that TOP is the most important stat in football and how to sodomize sharks.

Granted, I’m no marine biologist, and have no idea how it normally works, so I’ll defer to the experts. But this is the first I’ve heard about it being sodomy. I was under the impression it was just routine intercourse. That’s disgusting.
