I dont think hes the answer either, by the time he is eligible we should have Richardson and Del Rio here. But I do wonder if we can keep our QBs healthy, and what's the number we want in the QB room
Dude, I suspect we'd want 4, I just don't think it is realistic today.

If Jones is looking to transfer next year, Gatewood won't matter because he will be sitting out.
Agreed. And that’s the point I made earlier. Wondering why everyone assumes he’ll transfer, knowing he’d have to sit out a year anyway? I guess many think he’d somehow get automatic eligibility.?. Which brings me to my next question then. Why does everyone assume Jones will be granted eligibility but Gatewood would not??? Seems if one sits the other should have to also... unless they have an “extenuating” circumstance that justifies the transfer. That and perhaps just because the NCAA likes to stick it to us.?:

I would agree that it's a good room if we hadn't whiffed last year.

Again, different era. You’re simply not signing(and keeping) an elite QB every cycle anymore. Every other class is probably as good as can be hoped for at this point. You can add a filler in the others, and utilize the portal if necessary. Clemson last year again provides a prime example of what teams are facing. They went from loaded to 2 guys (one a 3*) in about 5 months.

Don't disagree, but two points:
1) it would be better to go from four to three with the fourth eliminated by failing the athletic competition, not failing to behave; and,
2) I think we should be able to keep a fourth QB who is better than a walk-on (e. g., a Trask) who is happy with the U F scholarship.

We should be able to do a lot of things. But the current “it’s not fair” mindset we’re instilling in college sports is the new reality. I feel bad for Tua, but if there’s a silver lining to his injury it’s that Alabama takes such a step back as a result. If Saban loses to Aub and feels it’s a result of not having a legit second stringer, it may be enough to make him lobby against some of the new portal rules. We need someone powerful like him or Meyer to get burned and have a season go up in smoke (like CU’s almost did last year) because of it. If nothing else, I could see the SEC stepping in and trying to modify if one of its schools was negatively impacted by it.

Hmmm... not a bad pick up. They’re dangerous with a mobile QB. Would have been much better this year if they weren’t limited to a WR at QB.
It is basically the same guy they have right now, the wide receiver who played quarterback

He’s not a top shelf passer but he’s definitely better than the guy they’ve got. Probably on par with the guy they lost early in the season before the Troy transfer took over. I like the add for them.

Just one thought, Bama didn't lose because of their QB, their defense was hot chit against a team that we bytch slapped.

Outraged? My sources told me he cried in his office for hours over the loss of Franks Jr.
