This will be a name the score, backups in the 3rd qtr game. Va plays in the ACC and not the good division. They have one win against a team with a winning record. The lost to Miami only scoring 3 FG's. There will more Gator fans in the stadium than show up for their home games. Their players will be so enamored with the bright lights of Miami I bet half the team will be hung over.

Virginia's roster consists of seventy seven 3*s and 4 four 2*'s. They have less talent on their roster than:
Vanderbilt
UCF
and half the teams in Div 1

Why not ND? I thought the Orange bowl had ties to ACC or ND. It makes way more sense to give ND who has 2 losses and is ranked 14th the Orange bowl over unranked 4 loss Virginia.

Think it depends on whether Virginia is still ranked in the top 25 by the committee. If not, then ND can be considered...

Edit: Final AP rankings have UVa unranked..

There is something that is called the Tropical Smoothie Bowl Game? Well then I officially apologize for all the snide remarks and comments I made regarding the Poulan Weedeater Bowl for all those years. In light of these revelations, I recommend that all bowl games be done away with, with the exception of the playoffs. it has gotten beyond ridiculous.

Don't know if I read it here or maybe on ESPN, but there's a scenario where the Orange could decide to take ND instead of a true ACC team. I'd love it, I think we'd destroy the golden homos.
No. They are contractually obligated to take either the ACC champion or the highest ranked remaining ACC team if the champion is in the playoffs. The other team is the highest ranked team from the SEC/B1G or Notre Dame.

I trust Grantham against Virginia, not Notre Dame, Baylor , or Memphis.

Am I the only one disturbed that we’re talking in an official game thread BEFORE the game has been decided?

Loophole if no ACC team is ranked.
