Every single one of them, just compare trophy cases.

Let me see if I got this straight. You would take Gundy or Shaw or Dantonio or Cristobal over Mullen?

Put any of those in the SEC with UF's talent and how many trophies do they have?

Mullen isn’t in the top 5 right now but I’d put him in the top 10 after the 180 he pulled from 2017’s dumpster fire.

Thought we were ranking active coaches. So yes, I'd put Dan behind those guys right now. But I'm a championship or bust kind of guy. As to your question, if I had been presented your list back in 2017 when we hired Dan, I don't think I'd have had Dan as my #1.

Mullen wasn’t my #1 either. I wanted Norvell after we whiffed on Kelly and Frost. In hindsight I think he was the best choice of the available coaches, hands down. It remains to be seen if he’ll be the best choice going forward.

Which leads me say this: The field gets fairly thin fairly fast after the top 3.

If trophies are you only measure then there's no discussion. You could just start a thread on who has the most trophies.

1) Dabo
2) Saban
3) Riley
4) Franklin
5) Mullen

I’m not sure whether yet to bite at Day. He’s a terrific playcaller. Is he all the other things you need to be? Too early.

Fire away.
Rhule? Bit early but he’s been impressive each stop. Not sure about Franklin but maybe. Shaw is another one.

Ogeron adapted his offense, now has the most explosive passing game in power football and is going to the CFP as #1 seed in year 2.

While our guy still fumbles around trying to. figure out why his option wont work for only the 14th straight year. You really dont want to compare yhe two. Its is bad look for us.

Well, but if actually winning isnt the only metric but if we imstead adjusted the amount of winning vs how much you suck as a recruiter, then who is best?

I agree with you on Dabo & Saban but I’d still put Saban #1 with Dabo at 2. I disagree with you on Mullen being top 5. He has to beat UGA, win the East and realistically win the conference first before joining the list. I also disagree on Franklin being top 5. I can go with Riley at #3. I think you have to go with Kirby either 4 or 5, not sure which. He’s won the SEC and made the title game in the few years he’s been there. For the last spot, maybe Brian Kelly. There are a few other candidates but it’s petty thin. Cristobal is doing pretty well but I don’t know if there is enough history yet to put him in the top 5. Maybe Kyle Whittingham ( but Pac 12 is pretty weak)?

It’s official. Donk is a Chizik fan. Coker too.

Adapted? I wasn’t aware Orgeron had any philosophy. But, yes, he does get credit (I think) for bringing in Brady.

Now, if he figures out a way to bar the door for the next five years, he catapults to the top of my list.

Mullen’s intellectual property is locked between his ears.

(Not sure that’s necessarily good.)

He has to win something just to make top 5 in the SEC. No one who isnt orange and blue thinks Mullinz is a top coach. Hell, he was our 4th pick and Tinerc's 17th.

Top 5 in SEC:
Saban
Shart
Jimbo
Malzahn
Ogeron

Order is debatable other than #1.

Thats what the trophy cases say and that is also what recruiting says will continie to happen.

They dont give trophies for moral victories as far as I know.

Who was our third pick?
