Being and old Zeppelin fan you should like this one as well. Done in front of the legends themselves, with Bonhams son on the drums.

Outstanding! Just seeing Page's reactions was great.

Originally recorded by Erma Franklin, Janis had in an incredible sound. Got to see her with Big Brother and the Holding Company at the 1st Atlanta Pop Festival.

You picked the right artist but not even Janis' best cover.

Everything that I'm aware of that Joplin recorded in her short life is a cover. Are you familiar with any original stuff by her? I like them both, just happen to think she shows more of her vocal range in the selection I posted and personally like it a little better. You know what they say about opinions.

I was just going to mention Kris Kristofferson only wrote "Me and Bobby McGee" Rodger Miller actually recorded the original version. Then the thought of Kris Kristofferson reminded me of the real best cover ever.

So will this get me laid?

Love this version. Took me a few minutes to place it since it was quite a bit different.

Sometimes a cover song becomes more famous than the original and people might even forget the original. This can be because the cover is better or is done by a more famous artist who is able to garner play time on the radio or has better marketing. One example is Johnny Rivers' hit of "Memphis, Tennessee" which was a cover of Chuck Berry's original. It sort of becomes like a reverse cover. Kenny Chesney came out with "El Cerrito Place" but a lot of people forgot that the original artist was Charlie Robison.
