    IDK... UM players, at least the top ones, have historically "mysteriously" found the cash to enjoy the amenities. Same for USC players.

    Hmm, are you sure he's right on that? I'm not an NCAA rules expert, but I thought there was a rules exception for this situation. You can normally only have 11 coaches who are allowed to coach on field and recruit, but I thought there was an allowance where the incoming and outgoing staff could...

    Sure. I agree there. Just saying regardless of this deal, I would expect most of these big deals to be structured where the "play 1 year for a big payout then leave" scenario isn't that feasible.

    That depends on the contract details. Everyone seems to be assuming it's a single lump sum with no early termination penalty. But if I were offering these deals I would make it a multi-year deal that escalates each year, not a single lump sum. Pay $250k year 1, $500k year two, $750k year 3...

    Evers isn't good enough to cry about. While this class is definitely sucking, and I don't see Napier fixing it, I'm pretty confident his future classes will make us forget this one.
