    Oh I agree with all that. If my son ever did something like that there'd be serious repercussions. I was commenting on the larger problem which that kid is reflecting. We are a national punch line.

    I don't see any difference between that and the CIB. I know plenty of scouts that legitimately earned it and plenty of grunts who made coffee on a FOB in a designated zone and got a CIB. Both of them lack much meaning bc too many were awarded for political reasons, not combat experience.

    They are infantry with a ride. I can say that bc I was both. And it's true. There was almost zero difference between my time with a blue cord or black stetson and spurs.
