He should given the state of the program the last 5 years, but I doubt he will get national coach of the year.

I enjoyed this from Sherman

W_ll M_sch_mp. (I’ve redacted certain letters of that name to reduce the risk of Florida fans suffering seizures while reading.)

[h=3]Rodger Sherman, SB Nation[/h] “Florida shouldn’t be here. It’s Year One of the Jim McElwain era after third- and fifth-place SEC East finishes the past two years under W_ll M_sch_mp. (I’ve redacted certain letters of that name to reduce the risk of Florida fans suffering seizures while reading.) The Gators were picked fifth in the SEC East, with only one first-place vote. Their apparent saving grace was rookie QB Will Grier, but now he’s suspended.”

This one made me laugh!

Definitely SEC COY, and should be heavily in the conversation for National COY. Harbaugh should be the other consideration.

I will say this, and I hesitate to do it bc I know its premature, but I cant imagine SOS going 8-1 w Treon at QB nor can I imagine Meyer doing it with our OL.

Obviously he isnt yet worthy to be mentoned in the same breath as the guy who finished 1st in the SEC his first year then took us to the first 5 SECCGs, winning four, or the other guy who recruited in a way that no one had ever seen, but Im just not sure that either could do as much with the roster problems we currently have.

I can't wait to see what he can do with 3 years of getting his own guys.

I think he'll run away with it. The only threats to him are harbough and sweeny. Harbough hasn't beat anybody and Clemson will end up clemsoning at some point.

I don't think SOS could do this with Treon. What he would do is have a passing backup play well enough to go 8-1, maybe Del Rio or Guy. This is assuming SOS in his prime, not now. Meyer would be faking a heart attack.

^This. SOS would have us in the same position if we got 90's Spurrier. Meyer needs his guys, and he walked into a better roster in 05 (especially at Oline) than McElwain walked into. We saw what we got in 05.
