Cardozo just said that over the last 7 games, Gators are hitting only .207.

:shocked2:

Mace gives up a double, then a 4 pitch walk to start the 2nd. Sully visits to chew.....

Gators fall behind 2-1.

It will be very telling to see how they respond in the B2. During their peak of this season, it seemed the Gators ALWAYS answered when giving up runs.

Starting the frosh looking like a poor decision early. Let’s hope he settles in

It also should be noted that Reese is back at 2nd base and batting 7th. Just stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on an error. Base hit will tie it.

I know it’s early, but why didn’t we start Singer? This team is scuffling, and this start from Mace isn’t going to help.

Gators in trouble. Down 3-1 in the top of the 3rd, 2 base hits after the HR to lead off the inning for Columbia. 2 on nobody out, Jordan Butler now in for Mace. And remember. Columbia is 20-28 and is supposedly the lowest seed in the tournament, being paired against #1. The Gators have not played well in about 4-5 weeks and if they lose to this crappy team, they're going to get bounced from their own regional. FAU & Jacksonville are very good.

I have to somewhat agree. I would have went Kowar, but..not my call. If Mace shines Sully is a genius..hope we can find offense

The plan is for Singer to pitch against the FAU/Jax winner and then Kowar would finish off the Regional by pitching against the survivor on Sunday. With Columbia being only 20-28 and supposedly the worst team in the 64-team field, Sully took this game for granted, no matter what he will say afterwards.

I think the consensus is that JU is a much better team than Columbia, and that Singer would be more beneficial to be the second day starter.

If UF loses today, he will be starting in an elimination game.

I think it's a good decision. It's the Gator BATS that have to perform better for us to make it to Omaha.

It’s risky and may still workout technically. I just don’t like “saving” pitchers, it comes back to bite you a lot of times.
