Even if we had won today, we would have had to make a deep run in SEC tourney just to even be considered for a Top 16 and regional host. But short of winning the tourney, we probably will be a #2 seed. We just do not have enough quality wins in conference. Five of our opponents in the SEC were Bama, Kintuck, USCe, Cowbell and Mizzou. All of them suck ballz and we were 11-4. Our other five series were LSU, Tinerc, UGly, Vandy and ARK which yielded a 4-11 record. That is just not enough quality wins to be considered for a regional host without winning what really is a meaningless conference tourney

Egg laid today, losing to the kawks 1 to 4.

Gives Dwags the #2 in the East, both 15 & 15, but leg humpers took the season series.
Bats went silent costing a good start by Pogue. Looked uninspired the entire game, too bad they sent Mick out with a thud.

This team seems to have a real problem with that. I don't want to call taking the day off but it sure looked like it. I'll be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are ready to get the tournament started and I mean the one that actually counts. We shall see.

With a game scheduled to be complete now (1:30 ET) but only in the 3rd due to weather, it looks like game 4 won't start until midnight.

Florida Baseball: Three Gators named to All-SEC teams, not Jud Fabian (usatoday.com)

Sometimes it is just better to go when you have the chance. Fabian wanted to help his teammates make the CWS, but batting 0.185 is SEC play probably cost Jud big-time! As a second rounder with Boston last year, he needs more than a good tournament to catch up!.
I appreciate his team first attitude but he cost himself a considerable amount of money. I wonder how much consideration was given to playing with his brother for one season?

The storm affecting our game extends across much of the lower SE. But it looks like it is moving north, and Hoover is near the southern end of the storm. If we can get on the field by 8:00, Game 3 may start before midnight. I think Game 4 has already been moved to tomorrow.so the winner of that game could have a doubleheader with a 12 hour delay.

Gators win 2-1 scoring in bottom of 9th. Great pitching by both starting pitchers.

FFS, please dear Jesus leave Craig Bell at hotel for the rest of the season and don;t let him get near the 3B coaching box ever again. We told you he sucked years ago, gets let go b/c he sucked. gets brought back only to prove he sux again. No not b/c the throw was airmailed but it was a clear send the runner given who was running, how slow the ball was hit and the position of the runner when the ball got to the CF.

Sully's insistence on keeping Bell as the 3rd base coach is a blatant symptom of a larger problem with Sully's coaching. He refuses to change despite over 10 years of Bell's consistent failures in the 3rd base coaching box.

Like him or dislike him, but didn't Ben McDonald say he would have injured his rotator cuff on that particular play where Craig Bell showed his incompetence, b/c he would have been wildly swinging his arm sending the runner home?

So he sends the runner on a tag with 2 outs on a shallow line drive that the CF is closing in on but not on the line drive base hit when the runner is in full sprint rounding 3rd? Bell is indeed a baseball idiot. Even if he is out you still have a runner on 3rd and 2 outs.
