One things for certain and Coach Napier touched on it in his initial presser. Businesses must be a part of the rebuild. You have to look no further than what big oil money is doing in Texas for NIL.
Some big money needs to show up at UF to keep the best players home.

What big industries does Florida have other than big agriculture and big construction/development?

Exactly, maybe some of these Lawyers you see every time you turn on the tv will step up. You really have to have money to burn because what return on your money do you get other that helping your school.
Look at GA. 60 miles from Atlanta a mega business center.

By my count UF currently has 90 players who could be on scholarship next fall including UF's 9 signees. (The Gatorbait guy is walking on lock step with UF and all other colleges ignoring the covid free eligibility year. so his depth by class chart is fiction.) Of course that puts UF 5 over the 85 limit but maybe the 5/6th year covid guys will get an exemption again this year. I have not seen that reported yet.

There will of course be lots of players leaving for positive and negative reasons. There are every year and there are more in coaching transition years.

1. UF probably will have two or three guys and maybe more declare early for the NFL draft.

2. UF currently has 8 guys in the transfer portal. They may all leave and they may not all leave. (This does not count E. Jones who has said he will put his name in the portal, but has not done so yet.)

3. UF will not invite back some of the 9 guys who have used that 4 in 5 season of eligibility but have 1 extra year because of the covid rule.

4. I have seen it said that a program can take only a total of 30 now, up to 25 signees and up to 5 transfers. A program can not take fewer transers and sign over 25, but they can count some back if they have room. I am not sure if a program signs fewer than 25 when they have room for 25, if they can take more transfers. (I have not personally found all of these rules, but they seem to match what college are doing for the most part.)

So:

A. by the 25 rule UF can sign 16 more in this class.

B. by the 85 rule UF is over the cap, but I don't see that as being a problem.

C. I will not be surprised if UF is under the 85 cap to start next fall and maybe by a number of scholarships.

I went to Grad School at LSU...I can't read all this.

Marion County has more than a few horse farm owners that appear regularly on the Forbes list of the 400 richest people

Lol
Probably Kentucky people sending the money back home.

There are some that have farms in Ocala and Kentucky but most of the ones I am familiar with include multi-billionaires like the Campbell Soup/Pepperidge Farm family, the guy that owns most of the Texas A&M campus along with people like Larry Roberts of Roberts Trucking that just built the World Equestrian Center (Homepage - World Equestrian Center), the Steinbrenners and many, many others. I saw statistics showing that the Ocala Airport hangars house as many or more private jets per capita as any place in the US.

What's the name of the road/area they all live on? they have some nickname for it. There was some mafia guy that lived down there about a decade ago.

Lawyers, Healthcare, Tourism, Boat builders, fishing, restaurant groups, automotive dealerships, etc. Those are just off the top of my head. I’m sure there’s tons of Gators in leadership positions in all of those, and many more. It’s time to get them all involved on a much deeper level than ever before.

Much of Florida AG is being pressured by EPA...IT Smells, Uses a lot of Water, Phosphorus Run-off, Herbicides, Pesticides...

Oh but don't mess with the Golf Courses.

It cost Putnam the election...now DeSantis has been stellar...but Big AG lost it for Putnam.

The only AG surviving are massive corporations.

It is also who UF AG caters to.

On the Equine front...Like the tourists...it's the winter home for a lot of horses.

When I was at UF they had Secretariat in Ocala for a while. Big $$$$ Some of the Animal Sci students had a Field Trip to Ocala.

The problem with trying to bring all this money in is Fuchs. He wants all that Nvidia type cash for his pet projects

Large farms extend throughout the county but many are in the west, north and east. Tales of a mob connection are usually linked to Stavola but I have no inside info on that. Frank Stronach owns or did own Adena Springs in Kentucky, racing tracks in Miami and other locations and other large holdings to numerous to list. The google search is endless. He started Magna Enterprises a worldwide automotive company. He wanted to get a horse track licensed in Ocala but after years of lobbying congress for legislative changes needed to facilitate approvals he finally gave up.

And you can't have a class of 35 in the SEC. The SEC changed the rule a couple of years ago. The limit is 28 now.

The above is wrong or at least disingenuous..

The SEC imposed a limit of 28 signees. Your CLASS can only ultimately have 25 initial scholarship holders per the NCAA rules. The 28 limit is to limit oversigning to 3.
