I would have to disagree Cags was the reason we lost Game 3 of the CWS in 2023. We really had no other choice as a starter that day and his performance was typical of the entire season. And yes I will agree that even into this year he did not develop as a pitcher as we hoped or needed, But overall he was a great player and just without his hitting alone this season, the team would not have advanced to the CWS. Yes, he will not be a 2 way player in MLB and his pitching days are over, but perhaps his lack of pitching progress at UF is not totally on him. Yes game 3 at the CWS was a huge disappointment but I will overlook that given that it pretty much mirrored his entire career as a pitcher and be grateful he was able to be a great hitter and a very good 1B.
