Here is why I was on board and a pumper when Napier got hired:
1. Napier's opening speech led us to believe that he would build the team up from the trenches making OL recruiting and development the priority.
2. Napier's opening speech led us to believe that he would focus on recruiting the state of Florida first.
3. Scared money dont make money.

Here is why I am now ready to move on after 2 seasons:
1. OL recruiting and development (development isnt really bad, just aint got the talent/depth) is still exactly the same as it was with the 3 previous failures and OL recruiting/development is probably the biggest reason why all of them have failed (and Napier is failing).
2. The big fish in Florida are still not going to UF.
3. Our scared money aint making money.

Yeah it’s pretty annoying. They said they’d work the footprint first and expand but it’s been the exact opposite for the most part.
its almost like its all been coach speak and nothing more... who woulda thunk it? :rolleyes3:

We have 2 of the top 20 in the state. Yeah you see that right. Urban Meyer and Mushamp usually got 8 to 10 of the top 20. This is where we have gotten.

For those of you who do not have access or do not know how to look it up, here are screenshots of the top 20 from the state.

Maybe a better way of putting it into perspective, between the ‘24 and ‘25 classes, he’s been handed three legacy blue chip players, practically gift wrapped by name and family history, and yet neither class has(or will) crack the Top-10. Without them, we’re probably in the low 20s last year and currently still sitting behind mid-majors. At the University of Florida. Really wrap your head around that. This is what we’re paying tens of millions of dollars and hundreds of people for.

His "strength" is recruiting. He actually sucks more at every other aspect of his job.

He'll get 25. We just picked up a basketball player. No time in pads but he's apparently from a real good family!

This is correct. We hired a football coach that supposedly is organized and a good recruiter . He just can’t actually coach worth a **** , develop players or has a clue on X’s and O’s. It’s the equivalent to a single guy hunting ladies at a gay bar

I notice the LB pursuit, our guys not entangled at the LOS. Maybe we see more of that level of play this season.
just was posting this in the box and decided to put in the thread:

and watch the LB play on that, not just Hanks. That is how you do it. They didn't get sucked up, the guards blocked air. Not that Grantham "just fire through any hole you see" bullshiite.

Also, sideways offenses are stupid.

Last cycle one third of our players were florida, this cycle 50%, so far. Not bad. Class has decent quality. so far this cycle most of fsu's class is Florida and Georgia, 10 of 13 commits. miami is about half Florida, same last cycle I believe. I am optimistic after a solid 8 win season, we are able to flip some players and close well but also realize the players committed elsewhere that we wanted may not be interested in December regardless of our season.

The behind the scenes army Billy established is probably struggling with negative recruiting and NIL offers.

How is miami selling so many Florida players with a similar record as ours?
