Dear Gator friends, just a short note to let you know I will be out of order or commission for a few weeks. Going down to Miami tomorrow to have open heart surgery - replacement of the mitral valve with a pig valve by a specialist, Dr, Joseph Lamalas who does this microscoply vs. sawing into the sternum. Hope this doesn't mess up my Sat. football games. Say a good Gator prayer for me and as Arnold says, "|'ll be back"!!!

It really was easier than I thought and now I pay homage to my porker ancestry at breakfast! You'll do fine, piece of cake. A 90-year-old friend just had his aortic valve replaced Monday via a catheterization (at North Florida Regional in Gainesville). He expects to attend the Gator game this Saturday. Take heart! Literally.
