Hell, If I was Moorhead I would go for it. Those retards in Starkville apparently think that they're supposed to compete in football consistently even with Mullen gone.
Moorhead is a 7-5 coach, just like Mullinz.

If Butters can do it, anyone can.

I suspect you could.

Wasn't it a vastly different landscape when McElwain had his first two years? Georgia was far below what they are now. Plus, I think while Jim did go 10-4 in 2015 he only won 9 in 2016. Although, I believe that was because of a hurricane that caused one of the games to be cancelled. Even still, those teams felt vastly worse than the teams we've had the last two years.

It was. Clowntown was still a top team.

Feels different, huh? Ok.

We basically traded Florida State for Georgia. One went down and one went up.

You and I typically agree, Donkey. If you had your way, who would you have hired instead of Mullen? Or who would you hire now? I'm genuinely curious.

So basically what Spurrier had in the 90s. I know you guys hate that argument but its just fact. Spurrier was an all time great but he was also fortunate that his primary nemesis was out of conference. CDM easily makes the SECCG in 16/17 if he’s our coach and likely has a much better shot at Bama. I doubt butters gets 6 wins in 18 or 19.

Come on Donk. Morehead is an AWFUL coach and should be fired. MSU has been horrific, far worse than anything Mullen ever put on the field there.

Again, this isnt much. 700k average and he will have to pay for Coordinators.

It is fcckimg NJ. You know the cost of living there. And you have to live innfckkimg Jersey which means you have to pay them twice as much even after accounting for cost of living.

Rutgers makes more off the B10 contract that an SEC team. They can afford it.

I get what you're saying w/ the $4 million salary for the head coach, that's doable for a Rutgers. But the $7.7 million assistant salary pool is outrageous, even for a low, low tier B10 school w/ the B10 money.

UF paid $5.52 million in 2019, below is the 2018 top salaries. No f'ing way Rutgers can or should be paying that kind of money for 5 to 6 wins/year.

Top 15 assistant salary pools - 2018

1. Ohio State: $7,383,938
2. Clemson: $6,825,000
3. Texas A&M: $6,789,640
4. Auburn: $6,555,600
5. LSU: $6,470,000
6. Georgia: $6,420,000
7. Alabama: $6,123,723
8. Texas: $5,955,000
9. Michigan: $5,875,000
10. Florida State: $5,715,000
11. Tennessee: $5,675,000
12. Washington: $5,465,040
13. Oregon: $5,345,000
14. Oklahoma: $5,133,000
15. South Carolina: $5,050,000

I guess he wants to win. Not be Rutgers.

You'd have to pay competent people 50% more just equal the money they'd make elsewhere, and then you'd have to pay them more because it was NJ.

I personally wouldn't live in NJ if they tripled my salary. Im sure Im not the only one.

Seeing our ranking here is always a downer. Can’t get where we want to go like that.

If we paid Robinson the going rate (vs. $90k) it would vault us into the top 10 easily. Honestly, we're keeping up - now - in salaries. It was true under Butters, but anyone (law) b*tching now is just b*tching for the hell of it. The LSU, Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State salaries are a little out of whack - mostly because that's what they do and because they've chosen to pay two coordinators HC salaries. Orgeron makes less than Mullen, so they can afford to pay the bigger coordinator salaries. If we lose Grantham this offseason I doubt the new guy makes much more than $1 million/year, so that should give us extra to boost Robinson, Turner, etc.

I mean, again....it's Rutgers. Coming in demanding an indoor practice facility and a private jet? WTF? Rutgers has zero expectations in football, this is ridiculous.

Agreed. Talk about overplaying your hand.....
