@Rotoworld_Draft: Report: Napier not interested in Miss. State NFL DRAFT: Napier not interested in Miss. State

They are going to get left holding the bag and look like--without question--the biggest fools of this offseason. It's not a job that's coveted by anyone, and you just sent a message that even an up and comer won't be given the necessary time to establish himself. To add to it, it's January and nearly every job has been filled, every coach settled, etc. Not sure who took over for Stricklin, but he's completely overshot who and what his program is. With Kiffin's recruiting and staff alone, he'll own the state and Msu will be lucky if they can battle it out with Arkansas for last place.

This is why I think there is more to the story than just the QB getting hit in the face and missing a bowl game. Coaches aren't usually fired for team fights after a winning season and after all other schools fired and hired coaches. Something has to be up to justify this or else their AD is settings them up for an expensive failure.

Good point- this could be one of those “hey NCAA, we got ahead of the potential violations issue by getting rid of our coach” type of situation.
Self imposed and all that...

True, except Mullen took over a disaster and stabilized it. Moorehead took over a stable, albeit middle class, program and is sending it the other direction. That said, I wonder what the off the field issues are? Can’t be a whole lot worse than taking a woman beating 5*, which Mullen did.

But you can’t fire a dude this soon for something like that, unless they really just didn’t like the dude and were hunting for an excuse - like we were in 2017. Either way, maybe they snatch up Grantham. Scary question though... who do we take at DC? Does Dan grab another Uber aggressive DC or does he take a look at what top defenses are doing in the NCAA and take one of those guys? Who you think?
