Source: LSU to ban OBJ 2 years over payments

Sports Illustrated reported that the Tigers will lose eight scholarships over two years, will reduce recruiting visits, evaluations and communication, and have banned Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from its football facilities for two years.

LSU's football program is charged with a Level III violation involving Beckham, a former Tigers star, who gave $2,000 in cash to four Tigers football players on the field after the team's 42-25 victory over Clemson in the CFP National Championship game on Jan. 13.

About time something happened from that ****.

Reading the article, it doesn't sound like this will be the end of it.

Were? Are you counting over signing corners and rush ends as filling scholarships?
Yes. We essentially did the same under Chimp. All Bucks and Corners.

We rarely got up to more than 70 scholly players. (Dont tell me about a few walkons getting a 'ship.)

Not sure what the problem is here. The game/season/amateur career was over for all those who accepted the cash.

Granted, it wasn't a good look, but not sure what is the issue here other than OBJ being an arrogant prick.

yeah it was stupid, but none of those players went to LSU because they thought that obj was going to hand them cash if they won a NC.

there was no competitive advantage for them.

it's not like every Alabama player getting issued a Dodge Challenger or a Cadillac Escalade or jobs and houses for their parents. but no one seems to be able to figure that out. how hard is it really to check the traffic tickets for these kids and which sports cars are driving? dealer plate or not?
