I was commenting on Ruth Sheehan. She wrote a column that basically said the Duke kids were guilty and needed to fess up. She blamed it on her being assaulted when she was younger. Just a cop out. She was one of the early people calling out the team, instead of calling for patience and due process. She later apologized, but she helped to fuel the fire in a big way.

This documentary does a great job at showing a lot of issues in our society. A lot of shame to be spread around.

My miss, you're right, alkie. I remember reading that that reporter said that as explanation (excuse) for her
bias condemnation campaign. That entire social/legal fiasco was a campaign.

Just watched it, and the case was every bit as much of a clusterf*ck as I remember it being while it was happening. Damn near destroyed a lot of lives, and for what, a DA's reelection?

Just learned something new about this whole thing. The AD that forced the coaches resignation is now the AD at LAU and was responsible for the Les Miles fiasco.

More to the topic of this board, this same idiot LSU AD represented the SEC on the NCAA selection committee this year bringing his 32 years of employment by an ACC school to the table and while everyone else was getting seven bids, the SEC was getting 3 and of course the Gators were once again being cheated out of a bid. Of course the fan base buys into the Gators not getting a bid making it even easier on the selection committee.

The DA should have been jailed alot more than 1 day for his scam on the people and the Duke AD never should have gotten another job. He ruined the Duke lacrosse coaches career and life. Where was Coach K standing up for his fellow coach? Didn't happen.

So true Scott5. The stripper-escort girl should have been punished severely, for wrongdoing &
as an example ... but 2 years later I think she was convicted of murdering her boyfriend (pimp?)

The coach actually has done ok I think. He was the coach for USA Lacrosse in 2010. I'm sure he'll be on the short list for any good Lacrosse coaching gigs. i do agree that he got screwed over royally, and the AD proved to be incompetent.

Thanks for the info. I hope he's done okay. I know he went to a small school after Duke. But it's not Duke and he was harmed permanently by the lies from the DA as were the players.

absolutely. I think he is fine tho, because the truth came out an he looks like a saint now. He co-wrote a book and I think he got a settlement.

Great point about Coach K. Really shows his true colors.

Having watched the travesty of this "monkey trial" - so true - ESPN reported that all the LAX players all received a settlement from Duke and that the 3 that were wrongfully indicted received a separate settlement from Duke. The 3 indicted had savvy family and attorneys so I believe that they received millions. Good for them since their names will always have an asterisk to some.

The hell with Brodhead, AD and others for wimping out to PC and not getting their Sh!t together in the face of BS PC.They should've checked out the whore's background and been more aware of the DA's MO.

Also not denying that the LAX team came across as being "entitled". They did hire the hookers. But the railroad job on them by the media and the DA running for office was criminal.

I just watched this for the first time. It had a lot of the same corrupt elements as the documentary Making a Murderer. One of the most telling moments was the jerk from the New York Times smirking as he was describing how the newsroom was "quivering with a thrill" that they had a story of "White over black...male over female...rich over poor...educated over uneducated, my God, all the things you know are happening in the world coming together in one place!"
