Ox has developed an intolerance for difference of opinion lately.
I’ve got to disagree with this after having a conversation with bald ass Danny Wuerfell recently. He was sharing stories about Doering being a drunk, tebow’s lisp and blatant homosexuality (recent beautiful beard and all). Ole Danny really surprised me when he started bashing those red necks from Tennessee - Spurrier and Bates. He said “Batesy can do such a good Spurrier impression cause he’s another one of those Tennessee ‘necks.” I was shocked at Danny’s lack of respect for Gator greats. It pretty much eliminated everything they had done on the field in my eyes. Someone change this thread title before they eliminate Kerwin’s stats from the record books for food abuse.
Shelley's just a little unsettled about moving to Sound Bend.....Give her time.
The NYT might have been 1984.
Lighten up. We all knew that Kerwin would be a "late bloomer." Congrats to him for finally making his way to the big time. I'm sure his offense will be tons of fun.
The 20%.............like some other guy pulling all kinds of numbers out of his assss/ Get back to me when it reaches the level spewed at the former first lady and to be truthful not much worse from me than from own his staff and many fellow pubs...........(note to ox, I didnt start this politicl bllsht but did reply)
You're right, it's probably more like 10%.
Sagarin Ratings had us #1 in 1985 In 1984 all of these had us #1....DeS, DuS, MGR, NYT, R(FACT), SN, SR
10th page! , let's keep it going
Oh look! You too are humorous because you disparage Danny for having no hair! Ha ha ha! But a conversation with Danny is different than Danny posting those "funny" comments on any social media site.
You and PE are kindred spirits.
See, you can say nice things.
And skip out on BBQ pork and sweet tea? Oh heck no.
My biggest issue with Bell isn't his weight, it's his perceived arrogance. What I mean is, he could have been a head coach at a decent program by now if he'd just worked his way up through the ranks like everyone else. Instead, he wanted to stay the head guy at a high school program and turned his nose up at "lesser" assistant positions at real schools. Not sure what changed, but good to see him finally take a real job - now maybe we can see what he's made of. He should have taken a job like this at least 5 years ago, maybe even 10.
Were there other D1 assistant offers that he was considered for? I don't recall any being discussed here.
There are no words for this. Imagine how many young guys he lead, and made positive impacts in their lives. I know an accountant cant put that in his balance sheet but it is real. He was probably doing something he loved. Making enough to live decently. He gets it my friend. You grow up in Mayo or nearby you understand what is important in life. It aint always bigger and better and more $$$ and fame. What he is MADE of is what more men need to be made of. Character and a work ethic. NOW THE REAL REASON I came back. This is what age can do to you. I spent time with Kerwin in the early 90s. A close friend of mine arranged for Kerwin to speak to inmates up at Raiford. He knew my love for all things orange and blue and asked me to drive. So in my 1984 Ford Granada with Kerwin in the front seat we had a long talk going to and from Raiford that night. Nice old country boy. The inmates many UM fans (no surprise there) gave him some sht but he just smiled and gave them his speech about life and how to turn it around. Watching Kerwin and Ricky Nattiel (both small town kids) whip that jawja ass almost sustained me till SOS arrived in the 90s. Kerwin will always be a gator great and good man.
And now it appears that he will always be a gator of great weight.
