You break it down into parts so you're completing a bunch of mini projects along the way.

Yeah I actually understand that aspect. Just still have a reallly short attention span and am always doing too much at once to focus. Had a solid wooden table that was like 15 years old and when we got a new one I insisted that I should keep it in the garage to sand and refinish. I heard about it for like 3 years and ended up burning it like Pinocchio on the boat at the end.

It might be different if you're actually building something insanely cool. A table ain't it. You should try again.

Fellas, keep in mind every damn 3D printer is made on the same assembly line in China - the names don't matter. Get one with a big enough plate that you can print bigger stuff. For $200 - $300, you can get a decent one.

A 1kg roll of filament is $20, and can print quite a bit. This droid took 15 rolls, but keep in mind it's friggin huge. I believe my proton packs take 6 rolls or so.

I used actuators in the mouse droid LOLA I made from the Star Wars series "Kenobi".

You're gonna phuck ALL OF THIS up aren't you?!
You're gonna go and get hired to do this schitt full time by some production company in Kommifornia and then what?
WHAT THEN?

I'll tell you what then. You forget about GatorChatter and about all of us, about all of these intimately personal relationships that you've built and fostered.

You're a real piece of work Andy. Such an ass.

Where will WE go?
What will WE do?

I’m almost positive we’re not doing first names here.

For whatever it's worth, I've already destroyed most of those. Even Durty won't talk to me these days.

I sold two proton packs, one for $3000 and one for $2700, and the other 5 are hanging on my wall. The droid is in the corner of the room.
Where is the wife? Has she moved out yet?

This is good work and I'm sure collectors would be willing to pay top dollar. If the the margins are good and you enjoy it why not try to build it? Get more printers and replace your day job. My brother is literally in this process right now with his woodworking. He's got two former students working for him doing the assembly so he can focus on the carving. He's still working part time for now, but unless the economy totally tanks it looks like that isn't going to be the situation for much longer.

Damn! Nice profit.
Profit? He's losing money if you consider the TIME it takes him to sand, prime & paint. Not to mention the time waiting for the primer and paint to dry while he paces around the Miata in the garage or watching The View w/a Zima in hand. And he probably uses the air compressor's little air-jet attachment to blow off the residue from his Comicon hoodie and each time he plugs that thing in it takes a minute to reach pressure. These idle times add up man! How about the drive to Home Depot? There's traffic to account for and the .58 cents he spends to drive there and back, plus standing in isle 21 staring at the myriad of options for sandpaper. It boggles the mind really that he does this at all. He's going broke as we speak.
