We should just blitz our LBer's on EVERY single play as they are useless in pass coverage anyway. Even if they blitz on running plays they may take the running lane that they seem to be out of position on running plays anyway....4-2-5 all day ftw....

We should just blitz our LBer's on EVERY single play as they are useless in pass coverage anyway. Even if they blitz on running plays they may take the running lane that they seem to be out of position on running plays anyway....4-2-5 all day ftw....

I really hate 4-2-5. But if you are going to play it, I agree, blitz often, and you better find a safety and star that hit like a linebacker and keep them in the box on run downs.

We got two at star. 13 and 0 are knocking the **** out of people and constantly making plays . 13 in particular is around the ball frequently.

Yeah..... not so much.

Im talking a linebacker type hitter, not just a solid 189 pounder who hangs on. Im talking Matt Elam or Major Wright making their teeth hurt when he hits them.

You are taking a linebacker the Sam linebacker off the field in a base defense against mostly run centric offenses and replacing him with a third linebacker. And then letting the nickle or strong safety have to take on a pulling guard or act like a LB. It sucks and 189 pound Sharif Denson will never replace Earl Everett, Dustin Doe or any other OLB.

It is actually worse than that because what we do is remove the big inside Spikes type linebacker and play two outside linebackers instead.

It's a defense designed for Sunbelt or Oregon but playing vs SEC.

Against LSU we didnt blitz a lot. We gave a lot of pre-snap blitz looks but dropped more back for coverage and got 7 sacks with just the front 4. Im not sure if thats the right play against Dart or not, but what I have noticed this season is Dart makes dumb decisions under pressure. I dont think man on man with our DBs against Ole Miss WRs is the right play though.

We didn’t need to blitz, their guards were terrible pass blockers.

We'd have nickel in my scenario...we'd just have to jam the piss out of that RB of theirs coming out of the backfield
