From SDS: (I'm curious if there's an off-set in Gray's contract since he was fired by UF, he gets a big raise after his first season):

Here are the details of each coach’s new deals at South Carolina

Defensive coordinator Clayton White (signed three-year deal)
  • 2021: $900,000
  • 2022: $900,000
  • 2023: $900,000
Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield (signed two-year deal)
  • 2021: $900,000
  • 2022: $900,000
Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray (signed three-year deal)
  • 2021: $350,000
  • 2022: $475,000
  • 2023: $500,000
Strength coach Luke Day (signed two-year deal)
  • 2021: $400,000
  • 2022: $400,000
In addition to those figures, South Carolina also handed out raises to former Will Muschamp staffers, Des Kitchings (running backs coach) and Mike Peterson (outside linebackers coach).

They are each now set to make $420,000 per season, up from $300,000 per season.

Texas is trying to hire Alabama DC Pete Golding, but wants to make sure Saban can line up a replacement (Sark has already poached 3 coaches/analysts and apparently Saban isn't happy about it, since he helped Sark get the Texas job). Saban is targeting UGA's Dan Lanning. If Lanning goes to Alabama, Golding goes to Texas.....and Will Muschamp will likely be the DC at UGA next year.

Now it looks like Lanning may end up at Texas. I suppose that would mean Golding stays at Alabama.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Good news for UGA. Dawgs DC, who some other programs were interested in, confirms he's staying in Athens.

This is another example of why we'll never get rid of Fat Todd without firing him (or allowing his contract to expire)....and somebody please remind me why we paid him $1.8 million (he made $600k his last year at Miss State). He's not leaving UF for a head coaching job, unless it's a P5 job - and after being fully exposed in 2020 he's not getting that offer anytime soon:

Marshall: New Herd head coach Charles Huff signed a 4-year deal worth $755,000 per year. Former Marshall head coach Doc Holliday was set to earn $762,000 pre-pandemic in 2020. Huff earned $550,000 this year at Alabama.

It’s so funny that we’ve always said we’re cheap on assistant salaries yet we paid this buffoon like he’s irreplaceable.

It's like Pruitt's, Muschamp's, Butter's, and several other mediocre coaches contracts - why? Who was trying to poach them from their current employer? There was no explanation for why these AD's got into these contracts.

Look at Christian Robinson's flirtation w/ Michigan. He's making $300k and his buyout is $75k. That makes sense, it's good for UF and good for Robinson. But to give Butter's and Muschamp the buyouts they had when NOBODY was interested in hiring them? Same w/ Muchamp at South Carolina and Pruitt at Tennessee - nobody was trying to poach them!

@PeteThamel: Sources: Vanderbilt expected to hire Baltimore Ravens DBs coach Jesse Minter as the school’s new defensive coordinator. Minter is the former DC at Georgia State and Indiana State. He’s the son of former Cincinnati head coach Rick Minter.

@RossDellenger: #LSU's never-ending coordinator search continues because the Saints would not allow Ryan Nielsen out of his contract.

Can you even imagine the combination of Orgeron and Grantham trying to have a conversation? Makes me laugh just thinking about it (please, please, please make this happen...please).
