Sorry, this guy has been a complete failure of a hire. Spent a year holed up doing nothing. Hired a bunch of cronies that do not even live in Florida. Didnt make any changes to the AD, hell, he didn't even bring back Gator Bait, a simple day-one type thing. I know most on this board are politically inclined to his tribe so the first instinct is to praise him, but objectively he didn't do anything as UF President. and has delayed change for another two years of stagnation But fear not tribe members, the BOG will ensure a similar replacement will come, my money is on Corcoran.

He also pretty much laid down the law on what would and would not be tolerated in the way of protests and all the Pro-Palestinian sentiment that was running wild around college campuses.

Whoever steps up would be well advised to prioritize jettisoning the limp AD first thing.

Just cleaning out DEI and pissing you off is a great start.
Do I sound pissed? I have long ago accepted the direction and while I may philosophically disagree with several elements, some I support. Among all the problems with academia, I didn't see particular issues with DEI on UF campus versus some other academic institutions, but I appreciate the political environment that led to some changes that are more superficial but make nice press clippings. I believe there are bigger hills to die upon. Keep searching for things to fit your mental construct to convince yourself that he was a grand success.

Some things are more important than football.. but family isn't one of them. Sasse needs to pull his head out of his ass

Oh you didn't see any issues. Well then, there certainly must not have been any right? And "other academic institutions"? You mean like Columbia or UNC? What hill could be more important than one that says you won't trash our campus with your hateful and destructive behavior and we will follow, as a public university, the laws of the state of Florida concerning discriminatory hiring practices?
